This is an intriguing challenge. :) My first impulse was that it's an early Kodak Retina but that's not the case. I've seen this sort of viewfinder on an early Agfa Karat but the film winding knob is in the wrong place. The winding knob is more Agfa Click-ish but the other parts of the camera look completely different. Also, the leatherette makes this look like a camera from the 60s/70s. Sorry for not being of any help, I just wanted to say that I love these challenges and I'm curious as well what camera this is. :)

Yep, Bryan has it.  The funny part is that she has not extended the lens, so a picture could not have been made.

Ah, models :D Reminds me of the ad where an actor is miming playing saxophone ... with the mouthpiece upside down ;D

Not just the model, also the person that put it in her hand and said pose with this.

Yes, you have to wonder what it is that the photographer and the advertiser are attempting to communicate by including an old film camera in the scene.  If the photo was a vintage fashion shot including a contemporary camera would at least make a little sense as being an accessory to the latest fashion trend.  In that case, it does not matter much that the model obviously has no clue about the operation of the camera.
Actually, I suppose there was a set designer who may have been directly responsible for the choice of props, but it is still hard to know how that individual imagines the audience for such a scene and how the choice of the camera prop is intended to appeal to the imagined market.

I've always wondered about the Mamiya TLR on the Adobe Photoshop Elements splash screen. I suppose the viewfinder is closed for artistic purposes, but it just looks wrong, particularly for photo-related software.

They probably don't know what the piece of frosted glass under the hood is for :)
Or they think that it's the window to the camera gnome's bathroom and they wanted to give it a bit more privacy  ;D
