Nice start so far. The Brutalist design aesthetic seems made for B&W photography, and I do love a Porsche 914.

Since we seem to be on a bit of an old car thing, I'll throw in this one. Leica IIIg, Elmar 50/3.5, Ektar:

I'm liking the car theme, but Bryan's cow photo bomb is making me smile this week. I don't have a car shot, but I did get a selfie reflection in a co-worker's motorcycle.

I love Fluminians propeller!  :)

I thought I would introduce a little lesson in botany with two shots of the Sea Aster. The second shot tells you how it got it's name. The leaves are edible and in Britain they are used in pickles. This specimen was caught in northern Norway.

Flumi's propeller and the Porsche 914 by 02Pilot stand out for me. Not to forget Bryan's cow nap - like it a lot !

...the Porsche 914 by 02Pilot...

Thanks, though I should clarify that my comment was directed to SLVR's second photo; the car in my shot is a late 1950s Corvette (which is also nice, but I'd rather have the Porsche).

Yay, it's Friday!

As promised from the "I just picked up..." thread, here's my pinhole shot made with the old Pan F I acquired from a local photographer.

It works well in pinhole and I even like the subtle bleed through of the number 4...

I've been going to this beach since I could walk, so it's a childhood treasure.

I did a photoshoot for a Finnish guitar player on Friday. We were mostly by the Williamsburg waterfront, and it happened to be a rather cold, windy day, so every couple of hours I had to go inside a bar and warm up my shutter finger back to the point where I could feel it again  :o

Among other things, I brought the Ciroflex that Andrej kindly fixed up for me (for the second time  :-[ ), and loaded it up with my second favorite emulsion in the world, Ektachrome 100SW (my favorite emulsion, by a very small margin, is 100VS). Usually I let my Epson V500 handle the exposure/contrast/color balance/whatnot, but for this shot, it looked better if I took it flat off of the scanner. I added contrast and stuff in Lightroom, but the flat color cast is pretty much unaltered. I really believe this to be one of my favorite shots ever. At least today ;)

This shot is beautiful but, why not adjusting colours to get proper ones?  The greenish cast is not really of my fancy :)

well damn, I like it! gives an color infrared look. the bold effect seems perfect for a shot like this

but I'm second guessing as I think it looks to have more of a cold blue cast than a green one

also, I've got a roll of SW on the way so it's nice to have an inspiring example like this for what it can do :)
my favorite part is probably the backlight between his head and arm. if you have more from the same shoot I'd be glad to see them

Nice to see that my second attempt at getting the shutter right worked.  ;) The coated triplet on that camera often produces that sort of slightly muted color, especially at wider apertures and into the light (veiling flare), along with the characteristic central sharpness and softness everywhere else. Nicely done.

The rest of the shots on the roll (which I allowed the V500 to do its thing) came out a lot more green. This, to me as well, is more blue. Occasionally I'll do some color correction, but in general I'm not a big fan of "true" colors (I figure, my eyes see true colors all the time, where's the excitement in that? :D )

Jonas, you can see the rest of the roll here: http://www.indofunkstudios.com/image.php?dir=images/ciroflex/2016_10_29_ektachrome_100sw_50 I generally shoot E6 film a stop slower than box speed and develop normally in C41, like I did for this roll.

Now you've made me sad that there was no Photoshop in the 60's!! Imagine the artistic output we would have had! It would be like Andy Warhol meets Peter Max meets every Grateful Dead concert poster! On film!! How awesome would that be?

brb, off to drop some acid ;)

Some 4x5 work—two recent and one from the archives:

1. The Eleazer Arnold House in Lincoln, Rhode Island.  It was built in 1687.
2. Woonsocket Falls on the Blackstone River, Woonsocket, Rhode Island
3. A Fence Post at Chase Farm, Lincoln, Rhode Island.  Picture made in 1995.

The first two were made on HP5+ and developed in Xtol.
The fence post picture was made on Tri-X and probably developed in TMax.
All three were taken on a Toyo 5x7 metal field camera with a 4x5 back;
the first two with a 90mm Super Angulon and the third probably with a 150mm G Claron.
