I'm starting my weekend (June 6-8)
« on: June 05, 2014, 04:37:20 PM »
Hi there 'wasters! I hope to be outside for a lot of this weekend, starting today so I need to post now.  8) I guess it is already Friday on the other side of the Atlantic so I won't feel too bad about it  ;)

OM10 with Tmax100!? I half expected it to be your 645 with FP4

I got some dreamy results with my summitar on doubleX . This combo is quickly becoming a favourite of mine.

Like that Algonquin Park shot a lot and I'm always a sucker for shots of empty café booths!  a great kickoff

My own is some Efke 100 5x7 in the Eastman 33A.  Been scoping this shot since the winter--waiting for the sun to swing around to the north a bit

Happened to be in NYC last weekend, which coincided with this year's spring Manhattanhenge ( http://www.amnh.org/our-research/hayden-planetarium/resources/manhattanhenge ).

Terry: Who knew about Manhattanhenge? Basically everyone, and all of Neil deGrasse Tyson's fanboys (and girls). Or do you mean who knew that Andrej was in town? Which brings me to my next point ...

I would have mentioned that I was going to be in the city had it not been a last minute idea. Next time I know I'm going to be down there I'll certainly advise the NYC crowd in advance so we can try to coordinate something.

Thanks mcduff. Sorry I normally add the camera etc. to my posts. They're both made with my Zero 2000 pinhole camera, the Greenwich image was on Delta 100 and Headland on Fuji Acros.

Amazing pinholes Paul and ManuelL!  For a moment I thought ManuelL had visited Seattle when I saw the hammering man but that same statue is in several cities around the world.

OM-10, 50mm 1.8 TMAX 100

I was glad to read this since my OM10 is the only decent 35mm film camera I have left (second best is my Stylus 140, then a couple of cheaper point and shoots, lastly are my homemade pinholes). I recently re-purposed my OM10 as the head on a MacGuyver enlarger (made from cardboard boxes and tape). Ok, you can stop laughing at my low tech cheap hardware now please. ;)

I recently got into Caffenol. After having messed around with prints and pinholes on vintage paper, I did my first Caffenol film yesterday. It was an unfinished roll of Safeway brand ISO-400 C41 exp2007 that's been sitting in the Olympus Stylus 140 since 2005. I took a couple of new frames before unloading it, and left myself a few inches of unexposed film to stuff into a pinhole. I used a ceramic Dutch oven as a developing pot and was surprised to find success with no light leaks! Here's the first quick 8x6" print on Ilford M-IV RC Deluxe Pearl. All apparent errors are due to the MacGuyver enlarger, a cheap scanner, and my fumbling hands (disability). The negative looks much better. It was done as a proof of concept, and was never intended to look good.  :o I was hugely surprised that it worked at all! I have no light meter so everything is guestimated. (Other Caffenol prints I've made with this enlarger using old colour negatives have worked out well).

more from me. My roll of portra got messed up so I had to desaturate to greyscale. Im thinking my M2's rangefinder may be out of calibration. Im throwing a roll through my IIIa and summitar + doubleX to be sure. Either way I have gear intending to be sent for service next monday.
