Fantastic images. Thought of you when I saw some fungi in the castle grounds the other day. Thought about snapping them up but they were not moving fast enough for me.

These are GORGEOUS! I love everything about them! Do you mind sharing your technique? How did you get the selective focus the way you did?

These are beautiful, Leon. May I ask what camera and lens you used?

thanks all. It's good to get out with the camera. FIrst time since June, and first time with the Bronica since last Autumn.

Tech details for those interested:

1. camera: Bronica SQAi
2. lens: standard 80mm
3. filters: +2 or +4 close ups
4. film: HP5+
5. developer: pyrocat HD
6. Exposure: Battery dead in light meter so mostly wild guesses - not recorded.
7. Accessories: 8x loupe for focusing, plastic bag to kneel on (avoids muddy knees), swiss army knife to trim surrounding vegetation, air blower bulb to remove any extraneous detritus or flies/ maggots from the 'shrooms, spare battery for light meter (to avoid #6 above), wife to locate new subjects while you are taking the pictures, dog to run about madly and scare off any particularly threatening squirrels.

Deborah - the focus is just down to getting in close and using a good quality loupe on the GG for critical focus placement. I tend to extend the lens to the maximum and then move the camera to focus.

Fabulous set. Love the "Fly Agaric" best, though, as the blurry bits fore and aft are just bokeh-licious.

These are great! Love the low angle shots. Makes them look so big in the scene.

FANTASTIC captures, Leon!  I love your mushroom portraits; they're just exquisite.  I have to say... the last one:  Mr. and Mrs. Chen.  I'm convinced of it.

Some more fabulous additions to a superb series Leon. Just a pity the screen depiction doesn't do the original prints justice.

Classy! Like Paul says, they're a great addition to what was already a wonderful set of images. I like the detail you included about packing scissors to trim unwanted veg  :D
