Pretty nice -- too costly for me of course, but I love the direction they're going!

It looks nice, inspired by Polaroid Land series I guess.

I couldn't find the lens' brand, is it made by the Russian Lomo?

wow... well ain't this is a pleasant surprise? haha~

this looks pretty decent in many ways. the wide, the many formats in one camera and it actually looks kind of nice :)
I hope they have a good finder though considering the different formats. but I do like how they solved the finder on the diana mini, so here's for staying positive!

it would be interesting to know its slowest shutter speed (besides B).

I got this in my mail this morning too!

Considering the camera is a metal body and can switch from 6x6 to 6x9 and 6x12 in mid roll, it could be quite interesting.
The way I look at it, if you're too broke to get a Linhof 612, you might as well go for this one.

They say the lenses were made by craftsmen... I wonder if that means they're going to be good?

Yeah i was kind of surprised as well. Looks decent enough, seriously considering getting one. Just the black because the others are the exact same camera for more money. Would like to know the lens format, though, as it says the lens is removable. Can we only use other yet to be produced lomo lenses or is it an existing mount? Couldn't find the info.

I'm sure the variable shot sizes just come from inserting masks. Ddn't really check out what the "experimental sticker" packs they were selling with it, sounds weird.

(edit: haha i misread city slicker as city sticker)

And yes the design looks straight ripped off from the polaroid type 20 camera, bu at least they ripped off a cool looking camera.

I'm sure mijonju has already shot wih it...

However, I do have an unused Holga Pan and a Linhof that is screaming at me for attention, but, damn them nevertheless!

Another pleasantly surprised punter here. I might even say it looks good.

You'd better order one if you want one - the link I'm looking at says limited to 300 units worldwide.

the 300 is for the limited edition models only...just silver with different leatherettes. black is the regular model, 500 of those. plastic maybe? I ordered one, so we shall see! haven't had a new camera for a couple years...

reading through the descriptions a bit more carefully, looks like two lenses are included, a 90mm and 58mm. that's actually pretty amazing considering the price. though it is zone focusing and not a rangefinder.

and really anything that encourages 120 film is a good thing.

No other lomo has tempted me so much. I am not sure if I will bite as that $200 would help with a few used camera purchases I have in mind. Much like when they helped out 110, I think I will benefit from this even if I do not buy any of their hardware.

This one took me totally by surprise. Price isn't ridiculous, multi-format is interesting, and it's kind of out of line with Lomo's toy camera milieu. Why no manual settings, though?

Looks like controls for shutter speed and focus are all on the lens. And more lenses planned. So I would not be surprised if there would be more options in the future. Distance zone scale focus is not a big issue there are a lot of pan cameras that are similar. How does film advance work?

Cheaper than I thought, as I couldn;t find a price on the site anywhere..

I still can;t justify a splurge though and if I could there are a couple of other toys I want more. Aesthetically pleasing though..

ARGH!  I just promised my hubby "no more cameras".  How do I convince him "just one more"?? :-\

Multi-format, interchangeable lenses, more lenses planned, great Polaroid-esque design, nice price early bird price point....

If it sells out my next Thursday (payday), I'll be relieved.  Otherwise, I may have to abscond with some funds.

It has such a wide lens, be interesting to use it with polaroid. I see a project in the future! I almost want to buy two so I can modify one...but it may be better to take a modified j66 and use the lens.

Manual settings need to be calibrated. This has a continuously variable shutter like the Polaroids which is simpler to build.
But by playing with the ISO setting, you can add and remove a few stops to the exposure.

I've wandered into this place, having done a google search wondering what happened to toycamera.com. I hadn't been in there in ages, but I was curious when I got the ominous bad website warning.

Now I found this forum. It's like walking into a strange bar, only to realize there are many familiar faces in the crowd. Hi everyone!

Ok... on to the relevant topic, The Belair X 6-12.

I usually don't care to spend too much money on my lo-fi cameras, but for some reason, the Belair really caught my eye, and I was excited by it's possibilities.

I ordered the black one at the 30% discount pre-order price, $175.  (I didn't see the discount code till I came here). I'm usually not so impetuous, but I just got paid for a freelance job, and had just deposited the check the same day!

I'm looking forward to comparing notes with everyone on this new camera.

As for the camera.....very, very interesting. A very pleasing turn of events.

What next I wonder? TIP to lower their prices by 33% and NOT mention it in an annoying marketing campaign. Things are looking up  ;)

Come on Ed, TIP and Lomo wouldn't be the same without their annoying marketing.
It's like K-Tel not selling some cheap piece of plastic in an infomercial (OK, I must admit I've always loved those crappy infomercials from the 70's and 80's...)
Here's a K-Tel infomercial for those who never heard of it... just imagine if it had been made by Lomo or TIP

Thinking about this camera in a new light. As a 6x9 it's a 40mm equivalent (which I like) and at 6x12 with the wide angle lens it's like a monster Vivitar UWS. Could be a lot of fun.

Perhaps.  I have two friends who bought Diana kits about 2 years ago.  I was thrilled when I heard and gave them both a couple rolls of film and even offered to develop and scan for them if they wanted.  Both cameras have still not even left their boxes...
