I always seem to be months behind with processing so these are from the last few days.

The first is with the Hasselblad swc in Crete and the second with the Holga in Alice, Texas.

Starting to get the film back from this year's hols to Provence, this was taken with the underwater Canon Sureshot A1 I got on the Bay for £11 loaded with charity shop expired Agfa Vista 200.

Nice Diane, I find it hard to get a pleasing pano result from the Holga TBH.
Here is one from a roll of shanghai 100 I shot yesterday on a business trip.
the sky was cloudless which was nice and a nice easy going pleasant drive
to my destination and then back home.

3:1 ish format Develloped in Caffenol-C, contrast boost in PS.

Hi Miles,

these was taken on the road between Fosford and Ballina
in Co.Mayo.

Serious amount of burnout marks on this stretch of road.

This is a shot of a couple of ladies reading their Sunday papers in a beach hut at Shoeburyness in Essex last weekend:

Thanks to Windy for the advice on how to post.

I am VERY disappointed at the standard of processing of the High Street lab I took this film to. I've never seen so much crud and dust on a set of negs. I will now be sending to a pro lab or re-learning how to process negs myself.

Incidentally, how do you post so that the photo just appears here rather than having to click a link?

Windy The last two of your images are currently unavailable according to flickr.
However the do show up on flickr (?).

I like the the Begur_OM10 one best of the three a bit abstract.

Miles despite what you say about the colour of these I do like the saturation of the 1st one.

Millar The juxtaposition of the bike lane symbol and the real bike is brillant!

Late Developer.  If you are able to develop your own it brings another creative control into your pictures. Beside the dust, scratches etc will be your own fault not the labs.
This looks more like a shipping container to me than a beach hut but a lovely capture either way.

Peter  As others have already said these landscapes are wonderful. Are these full sized negative or have you cropped to these dimensions?

They're cropped but only vertically, very little horizontally. They're 645 negs. All were taken with the final format in mind. It's a new project (which gave me an excuse to buy another camera of course). I did look at buying a 6x12 format but too expensive. I settled on a Mamiya 645 and a 45mm lens (equivalent to a 28mm on 35mm).

And thanks everyone for the comments. It'll encourage me to carry on with this project.

LD, I've only recently started developing my own. Great feeling when you look at the negs and see your work. Setting yourself up to develop is relatively easy, the crux is what to do with the negs. Currently I'm using a scanner , haven't progressed to a dark room (yet)

Thank you, I was wondering if these were taken on something akin to the xpan but didn't want to get into too much detail.  After all the images speak for themselves.

If this is the start of a series then I look forward to seeing more of them.

Mike / Ian,

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. It's a re-learn process for me. In the mid-70's when I first started taking photos, I joined a local camera club which, like most in those days, had its own darkroom for use by the members.

I've spent goodness knows how many hours (probably more like months in total) peering into the red-tinged darkness for prints to emerge from the whiteness of the paper in the trays and also trying to perfect the inversion technique required to get a good, even development of film.

These days, my wife and I live in a small two-bed semi (the smaller of which is now an office-cum-camera store) and our commute to work takes 1 Hr 45 Mins each way so we struggle to find much time (or energy) to do stuff week nights.

However, I'm going to acquire a changing back, a tank and some chemicals and give it a go with a few specially shot films that don't matter if they get screwed up. It's been a long time......

Sorry LD, misunderstood.

When I went back to film last year I started by using Ilford labs. I've also used thewholepictureonline for 120 developing.

I've been using the local photography shop for colour developing (only £2.00 a roll) but some rolls come back with scratches. So am having second thoughts. May start sending them off.

My week/weekend...

A couple of photos from Lithuania. Still getting over jet lag so scanning seems to be a good thing to do with my sleep fuzzy brain !

The main purpose of the trip was to document three sites in and around Vilnius: the Paneriai Masacre site (mass execution site of 100,000 Jews, Poles and Russians [70,000, 20,000 & 10,000 respectively), the main Jewish cemetery in Vilnius (most of which has a sports stadium built on top of now) and a smaller cemetery in the Old Town area of Vilnius.

These two are from the first site (Paneriai Massacre).  7 pits used for executions between 1941 & 43 and one for burning exhumed bodies in '43-'44 to destroy the evidence once it was clear the war was nearing with the defeat of German armies.  A color photo of mine can also be seen on the wikpedia site for Paneriai: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paneriai

The 1st photo is the burning pit.  The second photo is the smallest execution/mass grave pit.  Included in that is my spouse walking through that pit to show the human scale.

A project that will likely take a good 5 years to complete and across several eastern european countries. Not cheerful stuff - but necessary.  There is surprisingly little comprehensive photo documentation of this type.

P.S. Please Remind me to not use Fomapan for important shots... ;-(

Those are very thought provoking images Gregor, I saw some images of the Warsaw Jewish cemetery, with defaced graves-quite sad.

Thanks miles, the first and last shot were taken with a Rolleinar close up lens, which I'm totally impressed with.
I try to keep the apertures at ƒ4-ƒ5,6 the give nice shallow depth of focus-makes it look sharper.
All I need is more time to actually take and process pictures with three kids just starting a three different schools...
Why do I have to sleep :)
