Hey Vicky - I thought you said you'd got the new lens and had your old one mended....??  ::) ;)

Paul - you must learn to embrace the blur.  It's a pre-requisite of FW participation.

Peter, I really like that shed..all you need is a t.v. or something..some art hanging on the walls..since you already have the lounge chair... :)

Sorry Vicky - just couldn't help myself...!! My sense of humour strays regularly across the line and into the ridiculous. Drives my wife nuts sometimes but, hey, that's what husbands are for, isn't it??  ::)

Harvey, that's another wonderful SP, thank you. Your expression says to me something like,

"You want a photo of me? I said, you want a photo of me?! OK then [presses the cable release with venom] ...THIS is a photo of me! Now leave me in peace, I'm trying to work here."

Well that's two Christmas Cards I've saved on! Perhaps I'll post up an X-ray, my charm seems to have gone deep! and 1964 has just put an extra two years on me :)

just back from lithuania - couldn't log in while I was there - error message saying I was banned due to spamming ISP...   No wonder why we don't have any Lithuanian FWers ! ;-)

Don't forget about the self-portrait colab awhile back:

Harvey: that means you were born the same year I was. Good stuff. Also, I didn't say that you weren't hauntingly beautiful....just that you looked a bit angry  :)

Gregor: welcome back. I hope you had a great time. Get any shooting in?

Hi Ed, thanks for the welcome back. Took a lot of shots: a few packs of polaroid, a few rolls of 36 exposure 35mm and a 100 or so digital shots (weeded down to about 50 on the plane ride back).

Just got back today, with considerable jet lag (as I expected).  Developing film and scanning polaroid on tuesday this week (will post some on FW). Took 3 cameras w/me. 2 leicas (M3 and a d-lux 4) and a polaroid. Regret not taking the Plaubel, but since I was walking for 6 - 8 hours a day, my back appreciates the smaller cameras! If I had my way I would have packed a couple 6x6 cameras as well, but my spouse was insistent on 2 shoulder bags and one small suitcase to keep it simple.

I'll be putting up a standalone site from the trip and post a pointer to it since it will be a mixed bag of film and shots from the d-lux....

I thought I'd come home with a russian camera or two but found very few for sale: a antique shop in Vilnius' Old Town run by a russian with an assortment of feds, zenits and zorkis is various stages of malfunction  (he had a lubitel with a broken viewfinder that I fixed for him) all at higher than ebay prices - way higher than ebay in the case of the lubitel and 3 weary looking moskova 5s. In another shop - a bookstore with two cases of memorabilia - was a perkeo in a case next to another case holding a framed photo of hitler and SS patches and medallions amongst other nazi paraphernalia . As attractive as the perkeo was, I couldn't fathom giving the shop any money due to their wide assortment of nazi memorabilia and books. Thinking I was walking into your normal run of the mill used bookstore, those cases took me by surprise in a bad way...  In Kanaus I found an non-working and unidentifiable early TLR.

Our friends, who we met up with in Vilnius said they saw a lot of russian cameras in several shops in kronenberg - which wasn't on our itinerary...

Nonetheless, the trip was good as it's also good to be back.

Photo_Utopia - Ahh but I was clever and didn't lay on the apples directly :) And now I have twice as many as before. Stupid trees!

Francois - You charmer, you! I don't think I've been my usual grumpyself on here enough if you're calling me sweet :)
I like vicky's self portrait, it's awesome :) and Francois's too!
Peter's shed is fabulous and might even be bigger than mine ;)
Harvey totally looks like one of my friends in the theatre group! It's a bit uncanny. Needs to grow a bit of a goatee to be a proper doppleganger, though. On the plus side, my friend is nowhere near the 1960s birthyears so you don't look that old...

Might go take another self portrait today. We'll see how the weather holds out...

What peter's really needs is an alocholic beverage of his choice.

I think his large screen TV must be behind the camera.

Yes, I missed a trick there. A pint of cider in hand would have completed it. Even my wife said the same.

And nope, no TV behind the camera. Just a BBQ and a shredder. Neither of which make good entertainment to watch.

this is a close as you will get to a self portrait of me im affraid, im a very self loathing photographer....

was my first successful shot on my new polaroid 320, was looking into the lens to see if my battery conversion was working, it worked before i put film in then it stopped working so i had to resolder and check by wasting a photo on my face :-P turned out to be a pretty cool multi exposure with my photowall

Erin, a little FlexBody porn for you.

Phil, that is hot.

This one was more just about playing with the film (polaroid fade to black). I needed to shoot something close to hand to test it out and my face happened to be the nearest thing!

Love it, Clare!

 ------

I rarely take self-portraits of just myself. My wife and I have a series from before we were married, all shot at arm's length so we're always crowding the frame, but over the years we've been good at squeezing in the surroundings over Molly's shoulder or between our heads. There are some that I love just because of the quirk: sopping wet on the back of a fishing boat, the Eiffel tower jutting over Molly's shoulder, the first picture outside the hospital with our daughter.

Some day I'll collect them all into one book (and fan the pages to watch myself age), but alas, none at hand. You'll have to do with one from four years ago, screwing around with the self-timer during a horrendously slow winter commute. Dome lights abaze.
