Weekend! March 11-12-13
« on: March 11, 2022, 03:30:37 PM »
It's turn the clocks back weekend here in the states...I'm not a fan.
I caved and splurged on one of those RETO cameras that are clones of the Vivitar Wide and Slim.
Guess what? I like it. It's absolutely identical to the Vivitar in all ways. Cool matt colors to pick from. I bought a Pink one.
Anyway, on to the pix....
Arista 400 dunked in caffenol.

Looks like a fun camera Becky!

Here's a few from the photo essay I posted yesterday.  Leica IIIc with a Summitar 5cm f/2 and a Summaron 3.5cm f/3.5 lens.  The film is Kodak Panatomic-X expired 3/1963, developed in beer.

Thanks Becky!  I rate the film at 12 ISO.  I can get good results at 25 but it seems better at 12.  Not bad considering it's almost 60 years out of date.  That rating is based on the results I get developing it with beer.

A couple of weeks ago I spotted two old Soviet cameras for sale, a Zorki 1B and a Zenit 1. What attracted my attention was the lens attached to the Zorki, a 1949 Zorki ZK 1:2 F=5cm. This lens was made in a limited number and has the same configuration as the Jupiter 8. The most interesting fact is that it was made using Zeiss glass that was seized as war reparations. ZK is short for Sonnar Krasnogorsk, so we know where it was made. Here are two shots made with this lens.

If you want to change your photographs, you need to change cameras.
