Oh what the heck, lets start the Weekend
« on: May 20, 2021, 10:54:22 PM »
Just wanted to be first in line to start the weekend.
Here's a nice woodland shot I found... in my backyard.
I should have thought of blocking the flash on my Instax Mini with a finger long before today!

Great idea Francois, give the flash the finger.

These were both shot on Dungeness Spit on the North end of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington.  It's the longest natural land spit in the United States and continues to grow about 15 feet per year.  Zeiss Ikon ICA TRONA with Kodak Plus-X Pan 9X12 film expired 11/1981, developed in Beer.  I don't know if it's from the beer or if it's normal but the base of the film is very yellow.  I'll have to try it in Rodinal next to see if I still get a yellow base.  I was just guessing on the exposure, should probably do an exposure test on one sheet.

I suppose that the color of the base depends whether you used Corona or Guinness to develop ;)

Walking through town I spotted somebody who is not wasting time to get to work. I also discovered a new type of street art (or is it house art?) that I haven't seen before. Fascinating!

I'm not sure it's painted, it might have been printed on a membrane of some sort. I have not looked closely, will do next time I pass by.

Been very busy the last few weeks, and then had my first vacation in 18 months, so haven't had much to add to the weekend threads. This is a few months old. Now I have to go get my printer working so I can get my postcards printed and sent before the end of the month.

and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Great pics everyone. There is always such unusual work happening with the Filmwasters!

I'm working on my flower foul collection.  :D I made this with a 60mm lens on a Hasselblad and every extension tube I own. I think the depth of field is like a friggin' millimeter or something.

My daughter got interested in film wasting. First with Instax wide, then she asked for a point and shoot, so I got her a Mju for her birthday. Then she wanted to try B&W. I had some expired Agfapan she tried out. One was even Agfapan 25.

We found some Microdol-X powder and some fixer in the basement, and it even still worked. Expired back in 2013. After she had learned to develop, she went through my photography drawer, and found three exposed 135 and two exposed 120, which she volunteered to develop. This is from one of the first films. It was from a business trip to Naples in about 2015. Would have been shot on the Leica M2 with 50 Summicron probably.

It was like found film, but mostly photos of thefamily from 6-7years ago.

Following Bryan's picture from Dungeness over the pond, someone has to post a picture from Dungeness on this side of the water. Taken 2013 at a Filmwaster's meet up. No idea what this is supposed to be. Mamiya 645 but no other details recorded.

Oh yeah, it is just a few millimeters.
I've done tons of those and lets say you need to really hold your breath in order to nail the focus.

Thanks for sharing that Pete!  George Vancouver actually named it New Dungeness in 1792 because of the resemblance to the one in the UK.  We also have a very tasty crab called Dungeness, one of my favorite meals.

Wonderful, the weekend shots are underway!

Here's one from the (pretty cloudy, wet, and dull) week shot on Ultramax 400, expired September 2006 and developed and scanned by my local lab. Shooting into an empty shop unit next to a cafe, with a reflection from across the pavement.

A wonderful selection of photos this weekend.
J Lane glass plates from a while back when we had some sunshine.
2 asa, 1/2 plate size, Marion & Co wooden camera with a little boost in Gimp software. A mystery light leak/flare and a crop, as I dropped the plate as I took it out the holder when deveoping

Sterling work from everyone... never less than inspirational on the weekend thread.

Continuing my recent "in and around home" series.
Looking at what I have, I'm thinking about putting a little portfolio together... maybe a small format 'zine... and that has got me to considering layouts and sequencing, which led to my putting these two shots together...

Garden hose left as a trip hazard and Jasmine.

Both are from the Mamiya C330 (s or f... can never remember), with 135mm lens on Acros 100... dev'd in RO9.

Hi Peter, This is so strange, my wife and I visited Dungeness earlier this week. We looked at this thing, or one very similar, and was trying to work out what it is? I still don’t know!
