Well, it's Fall and I feel like giving others the chance to play with some stuff I don't use. So, that can only mean one thing: It's the time to Share the Love!

For all those who are new here (as in haven't played the game before), this has been a staple of the site on an irregular basis. And there are rules needed to make it work well.
I put up for adoption a piece of photographic gear. It can be anything that will fit through the mail. The first one who wants it claims the item but must put up for adoption another item. Think of it as a gear exchange train.

Eg.: Frank puts a camera which is adopted by Mark who puts an exposure meter which is claimed by Amy who puts a grain focuser which is adopted by.....

So, try and not put up some "Local Pickup Only" items.

If an item sticks for a few days because nobody wants it, you can switch it for something else. Just try and keep the exchange going for as long as possible.

Shipping is negotiated privately between the parties. Items are not sold in any way, it's just a trade.
-
OK, First Item up for grabs.

It's a Minolta Riva Zoom 70 Date. The camera works very well (I used it once) and features a 35-70mm zoom f/5.3-9.8, date imprint and multiple flash modes.
It comes in "Champagne" color. Works using a single CR-123A lithium battery.

It's looking for a nice home.
-
Great! I will look through my stuff for something to put on the block!

-
I've got something in mind for when we get home later this month. Great idea for a new thread.

-
Good one Francois. I was contemplating starting v.3 myself. You beat me to it, you are much better at managing the thread anyhow. I'm in of course. I'll look over my stuff when I get back home next week.

-
				Nicely done and explained François.

Please remember all, it's not an opportunity for people to be generous and give away loads of stuff - it must follow the chain of exchange. So try not to start your own chain. As it will get v confusing.

Of course, you are all free to post give aways on the trade/fs board :-)
-
Definitely, but I figured that since this is the busiest place on the forum, it would be the perfect place to get the most people reading it :)

-
I think you have to allow a couple more to offer stuff before you get any takers, or it will not get off the ground.

-
Well... I'll first give people a chance to go through their closets. I have so much stuff it won't be hard to change the first item.
I've got a lot of point & Shoots to get rid of. Some are good. Some are great. No ugly broken crap.
-
Always been great threads before, looking forward to seeing what changes hands this time...

-
OK, so no taker for the Minolta. Here's a second camera that needs a good home.

It's a Ricoh FF-9S. It has an auto-focus 35mm f/3.5 lens. The flash needs to pop-out to work, so simply keeping it in the camera makes it discrete. It works using a single CRP-2 battery. The reason I bought it is that it has an unusual feature for a point & shoot: Multiple Exposure. Just press the menu button next to the strap until M.E. appears. It's that simple.

I haven't used it but my eyeball tells me it works just fine. Also, the finder has bright lines and is not as tiny as some cameras I've seen.
Will this camera see some love?
-
Darn, if only the Ricoh were the transparent special edition one.

-
I must say this share the love is off to a slow start!

-
Yeah... Tomorrow, I'll put another camera up. This time it's going to be a Canon that has a flash off mode.

-
Well the mods have put a lid on several offers going at the same time. I know it´s a bit messy and difficult to follow, but it worked last time round. Thanks to Francois I might add.

-
it didnt really work on either of the other 2 threads ... we just had a load of gear being offered that wasnt shifting and it was difficult to keep track of who should have put something up next ...

but it's really up to you peeps, if you want to start offering stuff, then feel free.
-
BTW - I'd have taken both of those cameras off your hands Francois, but I just dont shoot 35mm anymore.

-
For the record, I like the idea and would participate, but I just don't think I have anything that would be interesting to anyone. The only camera I have that I don't shoot anymore is a Konica C35 EFP with a broken flash, and I don't think that's a particularly impressive offer :) As for accessories...I don't have anything that I'm not using except for a broken light meter.

-
				OK, here's another one.
It's a Canon Sure Shot 80 Tele SAF.
It sports a selectable 38/80mm f/3.7-7.3 lens. But its best feature is the selector wheel at the back which gives you the choice of flash permanently off, always on, auto red-eye, auto everything and self timer. So, no flash going off when you don't want to.

I haven't put film through it but it appears to work flawlessly.

Will this beauty have a taker?
-
Boy... you sure are a tough crowd!

Lets hope this one is going to please someone.

It's a Sekonic Auto-Lumi model 86 exposure meter. It uses a selenium cell so no batteries are required. It's a reflected light meter and works very well outdoors. Indoors, I find it lacks a bit in sensitivity, but that's the case with all selenium meters. It's also very small and will fit in pretty much any pocket whether it be on your shirt or in your bag. It also comes with the leather case that protects the cell from exposure so that it lasts a long time.

So, will this get the ball rolling?
-
Francois, I would love this! I will find something to put up on the block!!

-
Yay finally! I'm very proud of me that I didn't cave (yet) ;D

-
Francois, I would love this! I will find something to put up on the block!!

And the meter goes to Diane!

Boy this was a slow start!

So lets get this thing going!
-
So now Diane puts something up?

-
				Exactly!

-
Diane, Full hassleblad kit with loads of lenses and spare backs please.
(if this happens I claim it in advance!!!!)

 :D
-
Francois, please let me know what I owe you for postage!

I have vintage KODAK Brownie Starmatic with 127 spool inside and with flash attachment..( works well) and also a Brownie Holiday  also with its 127 spool..I have used both of these. The HOIDAY has a crack or small portion of the front edge missing but I still have had no light leaks. I will post images as soon as my internet decides to upload the images to my computer...

I also have an Olympus pen EEs...vintage that is a very nice little camera..have taken it all over the world with me but haven't used it in about a year so maybe someone else would enjoy it..shoots half frame...
-
The Pen was a really nice camera.
 Here's what they look like
 (http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2162/2403358996_fb5c2865b1_m.jpg)
-
Are you looking to move all three of these on at once Diane? or individually?

-
I we play by the rules then the next person can only take one camera.

-
Unless Diane decides to put them as a bulk. I don't have anything against that.

If it gets too free for all, I'll make a spreadsheet to keep track of everything.
-
Whatever works or is fair...I don't mind how it goes! Thanks for posting the picture Francois!

-
I was asking as I have two Pens already and it didn't seem fair to put my hand up for a third when somebody else might want it.

I will put my hand up for the starmatic if you are ok to ship to the UK, which I will happily pay for. That would be lovely :)
-
Verian, just pm me an address...I will ship and let you know the postage.:*)

-
Diane, I will take the Pen. PM on it's way.

-
				two down!

-
I have a Miranda Sensomat RE (http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Miranda_Sensomat) with 50mm 1:1.8 lens. It looks like the UV filter was put on when it was purchased and has never been off. The front glass is seriously pristine! I have used the camera and it works fine. The battery may need changing. I just don't use it since my Nikkormat FTn is my go-to 35mm.
This was taken with that camera using Lomo Xpro film.

-
OK Verian , time to put something up.

-
OK Verian , time to put something up.

I will. Not at home at the moment.
-
Is there a limit to how many times we can put our hand up for things, don't want to be greedy or deny anybody else an opportunity, just asking.

-
It's on a first come first serve basis. You can take as long as you can give back.

-
Thank you Andrej! I was so so close to giving in, but I don't really need another camera.

 You're welcome, Urban :-)
There is this Olympus mju I (with box and everything, mind you) but as I've just found out the battery has died and sadly I won't be able to try it before Tuesday (it's a bank holiday weekend here) to be 100% sure it works - id did last year...

There is this Olympus mju I...

Haha, I have to thank you too Andrej! I too was tempted but I have been trying out a friend's PEN and I am going to take if off his hands. But I have to say, halfframes are F-U-N! I hope you have a good time with it. I love just building bigger images with them. I have done the same before with 110 but the halfframe's format, orientation, and border, they are superior for that!

And with a mji I (or Stylus Inifinity, as they were called in North America) being offered up,  I  am excited to see so much olympus stuff getting passed around. I have one of those as well, so I will pass, but they are sharp little shooters.
-
I have this cool little number to offer up. All in good order, just needs a battery.

I haven't received any PMs for the Miranda. If no one wants it, I'll dig around and see what else I can offer.

Now I'm confused. Wasn't Andrej interested in the Miranda?
-
Well, this is my first Share the Love, so I'll defer to the more experienced, or to Andrej himself. Andrej??

Sorry if I'm muddying the water. I just don't want to be offering something unwanted when I am getting something really cool.

Ah, I'm sorry for the confusion... I did not sent any PMs since I first wanted to check if I have anything to offer. And since this goes on first come first serve basis, feel free to jump on that one - I'm sure this isn't the last interesting camera here.

I am perfectly willing to hold it for you Andrej while you look through the attic. I just wasn't sure on protocol. Probably the safest bet is to send a PM to that effect and then if you find that you don't have anything to offer, let me know and I will go to the next PM or re-post on the thread. But I'm a noob at this so if the mods have different rules, we should defer to them.

-
				OK, we now have
 Verian -  Olympus Mju 1
 jharr - Miranda Sensomat

I too was a bit puzzled and dropped the ball... lets pick it back up and keep this thing rolling!
-
Do we have takers for the Olympus Mju and the Miranda?

Here are the specs for the Mju
The Olympus µ[mju:] (US: ∞ Stylus) was a fully automatic 35mm compact camera introduced by Olympus in 1991. The Stylus was the first model in the hugely successful Olympus mju/Stylus series, selling 5 million on its own[1].

Evolved by camera designer Maitani Yoshihisa[2] from his Olympus XA design, the µ[mju:] was very small and curvy, with an integrated lens cover. It is switched on by shifting the lens cover to one side.

Some versions of the mju actually say µ[mju:]-1 on the front.[3]

The technological specifications of this camera formed the basis of a retro-styled limited edition "concept" camera called the Ecru.
 Specifications

 Lens: 35mm, f/3.5 (3 elements in 3 groups).
Active multi-beam autofocus with 100-steps for a huge range of distances. Pre-focus lock enabled.
 Film format: 35mm DX-coded film, ISO 50-3200.
Automatic exposure with shutter speeds of 1/15-1/500s.
 Self-timer.
 Film advance: Autowind and rewind.
Integrated flash with four modes: Auto, red eye reduction, fill-in, disabled.
LCD with battery check and frame counter.
 Tripod Mount.
 Power: 3V lithium CR123A.

 And for the Miranda
The Miranda Sensomat is a 35mm SLR launched in 1969. The Sensomat had TTL CdS stop-down meter built-in the under mirror; an advanced feature for its day. At the time it was known as the poor man's Nikon F as it sported a removable prism like the F. The Sensomat sold reasonably well as a budget SLR during the 70's.

The exposure meter is based on a TTL CdS sensor with a measuring of 1.6 to 18 EV (ISO 100 f/1.8). It has a sensitivity 25 to 1600 ASA. The meter is operated by the two buttons next to lens throat. A metering needle can be seen in the right side of the view finder. It is powered by a PX675 mercury battery.

The shutter is a focal plane design with speeds of 1 to 1/1000 with bulb. The shutter releases can be triggered on top as well as the front of the body. Flash sync is available at with terminals on the front of the body for both FP (top) and X (bottom) PC terminals. Electronics sync is at a maximum of 1/45 of a sec.
 (quotes from Camera-wiki.org)

The Mju is said to be like the XA, only with a much sharper lens and good automation.
And the Miranda was the poor man's Nikon F. And since production has stopped a while ago, lenses are bound to be dirt cheap.

 Come on people!
We have two nice pieces of gear waiting for some love.
-
Let's wait for Andrej. I think he's still looking for some camera to offer in return for the Miranda. If not, I wouldn't mind taking it ;D

-
Would love the Miranda..when and if it is still available..I have a Practika available also with lens.
 will post image...
-
I might have to get a ruling from Francois, but I think Urban was the first to make a 'claim' after Andrej released his 'interest'. I still haven't received an address from anyone in my inbox. I think the problem here is that everyone is so nice and polite on this forum that no one wants to step on any toes! :) Unless Francois has another opinion, I will say that Urban has the option on the Miranda currently, but if I don't hear from him in the next day or so, I will let it go to Diane. Sound fair?

 ~J
-
				Absolutely! No problem!

-
That's fair with me. I'll PM urban to tell him.

-
That's very kind of you guys :) Go ahead Diane, after all it won't have to be shipping across the Atlantic then, and like I said I should reduce my camera collection instead of just swapping cameras ;)

-
So jharr, the camera goes to Diane :)

-
Urban..if there is something you are looking for please let me know and if will do my best to find it for you! You have been very generous!

-
OT: Thanks Francois for posting my rubbish description of the miranda! This has alerted me to some poor word usage I need to fix. ;D

-
The front shutter release is da bomb! I wish all 35mm SLRs came with one! You can have a cable release attached up top and still shoot at eye level using the front release. It is over all a much more ergonomic setup.

-
Urban..if there is something you are looking for please let me know and if will do my best to find it for you! You have been very generous!

Thanks Diane. I can't think of anything. I have to much stuff anyway. But I'll let you know when our new house is ready next year. I'm sure we'll have many empty walls :)
-
Urban..thats a deal! anything you want of mine I will get printed for you!

The Praktica..nice camera in good condition..the battery seems to drain if left in for long dormant periods of time..I just take the battery out if I am not using it!
-

and yes there is a lens cap!
-
OK, We still have Verian's Olympus Mju on the block. It's the same as the Stylus Epic if I remember correctly. If you have to own a cult camera, this is the chance to get one! Take some time to check out what it can do on Flickr and I'm sure you'll be rushing at the door to get one!
 http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=olympus+stylus+epic (http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=olympus+stylus+epic)
 http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=olympus%20mju (http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=olympus%20mju)

Now, the Praktica BC1 is a nice camera. It was produced starting in 1982 and runs on 4xLR44 cells. It also features an automatic aperture priority exposure mode which give constantly variable electronically controlled shutter speeds. The camera is similar to the Jenaflex AM1 and uses the Praktica B mount that has electronic contacts for the aperture control. It has a single fully mechanical speed at 1/90 in case the batteries fail (just like the Nikon FE).

 (Oops! corrected)
-
Jharr stole my Mju!!!!  Turn your back for one minute and  look what happens, can't trust anybody nowadays!  :P

-
No, I have Diane's Pen and she has my Miranda. I think the Mju is still out there.

-

Just joking Jharr, the Mju is at my house as I put it up!
-
Francois, maybe it has been a long week (or I ate to much leftover candy today), but I cannot figure out what is out there these days? I think I got confused when mju cameras started reproducing  ;)

Can you give us an update of what is out there? (Says the guy with TinTin's old Canonet 21 that may find a new home if things get interesting...)
-

Oh man! I really need a weekend! ::)
-
				I'm gathering a few items !

-
Diane, if the Praktica BC1is still available?
 …I'd like it :)
-
Can you give us an update of what is out there? (Says the guy with TinTin's old Canonet 21 that may find a new home if things get interesting...)

Right now, Verian has the Olympus Mju-1 and Diane has the Praktica BC1

-
Hey guys, so it's been a while, and I though I would take of this, first time :)

So I have a Polaroid 186 Accesory set, for the sx-70 box cameras:

 ;D
-
				Hi,
I'd love the sx70 kit if possible? Im in the uk...

let me know if so and I will post what I have to offer...

 thanks! :)

 {EDIT - not sure if yglotte has accepted a item from anyone else yet, so not sure if that's an issue...}
-
That will be great chalky, just tell me what you have to offer, but I'm find with everything  ;)

-
Excellent! Thank you. Pm me the details.

I'm going to offer an unopened block of 10 packs of 35mm Fuji superia 200asa film. Only 12 shots per roll, which can be great for testing new cameras or half frames. Expired 04/2012 but cold stored its entire life.

Hope someone can make use of it!

Don't forget, this is a chain of exchanges, not a free for all (read first message).

So, if I'm correct, Yglotte's kit goes to Chalky.

 And we now have
 -Verian's Mju1
-Diane's Praktica (which is still available if Chricel changes her mind)
 -Chalky's 10 rolls of 35mm Superia 200 ISO.

-
Hey guys, sorry for my delayed response. I spent the day taking pics at a fabulous Pow Wow.
Any way... I grabbed Diane's Praktica.
And , this being my 1st "share the love"…I am now to offer something? Francois, please let me know  ;)
I have a Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera Alpha1 Model 2 . Last time I used it it worked fine. I have just never been able to embrace polaroid  :-\ The leatherette is truly fugly & could use replacing. Here are some pics.
-
				I'll be taking chalky's lot, if it's ok ?

-
				fine with me!

(although I think like every time we've lost the 'chain' but there are still some great things being offered and taken)

 PM me your details
-
I'll bite, Chricel! I always wanted to try an SX-70. I'll PM you about postage.

I'm posting this for my phone so I can't post images right now. I'm offering a Canon AF35ML. A point and shoot with a F/2 lens! I haven't tried it but it seems to work just fine. But the light seals need replacing.
-
OK, the Praktica goes to Chricel
 Chricel's SX-70 goes to Urban
Yglotte's SX-70 kit goes to Chalky
 Chalky's film goes to Yglotte

So... It Yglotte and Urban's time to put something up.
-
Well, not really. Yglotte is 1 for 1. I think Verian' s Mju is still in the running?

-
Bah... this is getting a bit messy. So if Yglotte doesn't have anything to add, I'll just let it slip by.

-
Yay, the confusion has set in ;) That's for keeping an eye on everything Francois. But I did put up something (images to follow later):

A Canon AF35ML (http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Canon_Super_Sure_Shot/AF35ML/Autoboy_Super) which to my knowledge is the only point & shoot camera with a f/2 lens. It seems to work find (I haven't shot a roll), but the light seals need to be replaced.
-
				OK, so we now have
 Verian's cult classic Olympus Mju
 Urban's Canon AF35ML

That canon looks quite interesting. Don't let its looks fool you, I'm sure it can be a very serious contender. I have a Fuji with similar looks and let me tell you that the knurled grip is really nice!

-
Anyone giving away a 50F1 Noctilux could do with one for my M4  :D

-
				Here's what camera-wiki says about Urban's Canon
Made in 1981 by Canon and also known as the Super Sure Shot (US) and Autoboy Super (Japan), the AF35ML was the second in Canon's Sure Shot series and became the compact camera of choice for professionals who wanted to shoot in low-light, since it has a large 1.9 aperture lens.

The shutter button can be held down and able to expose at approx. 1 fps. without flash. A beep will occur if the camera shakes. This happens most often during slow shutter speeds where the camera need to be steady.

The camera features a CCD based auto focus system. The auto focusing mode is shown on the viewfinder. Three different LED modes are shown on the left; portrait, group and mountain. Focus lock can also be done by pressing the shutter half way. If a mode is not lit the AF system may be confused and exposure will most likely not be in focus. Common problematic focusing situations include subjects without vertical lines, solid coloured objects, subject with objects in front, back lite or reflective subjets.

The camera uses two common AA batteries, with a life of 30 (36 exp.) rolls or 5 rolls when using flash with every exposure. The flash in up position will also reduce the battery. A battery check mode is available by turning the mode dial to b.c. Eight beeps per second means the batteries are okay. Slower bps means battery replacement is needed.

At the end of the film roll the camera will emit an electronic beep. To rewind the film back into the canister; on the base of the camera, press and hold the round silver button and slide the rewind switch.

Fiatlux: sorry but I'll have to act as a mean moderator and enforce the rules... Please read the first message on the procedure and rules of the game. I've already let two chains of exchange go ahead and it's getting pretty hard to follow for me.

What I'll do is drum up the present offers for a few days. If there isn't any takers, I'll possibly reset the thread and get it going again on new offers. Then you can post the camera and we'll see if there are any takers...

I think that is a good plan Francois. My simple brain is getting confused by what is out there. Time to get all draconian!  ;-)

Right now, it's still only Verian's Mju and Urban's Canon.

I know they might only be point and shoots but I can't believe people aren't going for them. The Mju is really very good. Think of it a bit like a modern trip 35 mixed with an XA. You get sharpness and great contrast. It's also very discrete and small.

And there's Urban's Canon. It might be bulkier but it's got a very luminous lens for a point & shoot. When all others struggle to get lens openings below f/3.5, this one gets a fantastic f/1.9! This is SLR territory right there. But having a viewfinder guarantees that the view will always be bright. I believe it could prove to be a perfect nighttime street shooting camera.
-
Might have a look tonight at what else I have in the cabinet and swap out the MJU for something else.

-
Although I do not know why someone had not snapped up Verian's camera as the mju is mighty nice. I have one or I would snap it up.

-
I blame this on the XA-LCA hype. A lot of great cameras that would fit into the same category don't get the same popularity as those two take all the place.

Quite alright Francois, I guess I misunderstood and yes, I can repost it when necessary!  :)
-
				:(

-
If it wasn't that shipping from Germany to Canada probably would cost an arm and a leg, I'd definitely be tempted by the Canon  :(

-
I can have a look Francois. If you're lucky it could be that it's just 7€ (if we stay below 1kg which is quite probable). If not then you're right it's expensive (15€).

-
My Praktica arrived today. Petite yet solid, similar to my Nikon fg. Thanks Diane!
Just need to get some batteries tomorrow & then off to waste some film :)
-
Urban, the SX70 is on its way to you! I'll PM you the details.

-
I am interested in Urbans Canon too.

 I can offer:

 - a Konica Big mini BM-302, which has a 35mm f3.5 lens, flash, autofocus. The frontside plastic tab, which holds the viewfinder, flash, exposure meter and autofocus has a little crack though.
It's not in the viewfinder field and it never seemed to have an influence on the automatic unitys. It's a nice looking P&S, but I replaced with a Yashica T-4.

 - a Polaroid F119 Close Up Lens (mint condition incl. original case) for Spectra/Image Cameras to offer, since my Image broke...
-
Great! PM me your address and I'll let you know the postage cost. Oh, and I'll take the Spectra close-up lens!

In return I'm offering an Agfa Click II. It is in very good condition, apart from the leatherette that's peeling off. It comes with a plastic ever-ready case.
-
Ok folks, the Spectra Close Up lens is going to Urban.

So I'll take the Konica Big mini off at this point.

Looking forward to the Canon AF35ML!
-
To summarise, this leaves us with:

 - Olympus mju (Stylus Infinity) by Verian
- Agfa Click II by Urban Hafner

SOMEBODY SHOW THE Mju SOME LOVE!!!!
-
;) Sorry, but I already have one. I like it better than the mju-II (stylus infinity)!

-
				.

-
Sorry, but no more P+S cameras needed. My sister had a Mju, and it was a stellar performer, but not my cup of tea.

-
I would take it but I will be going to be away from home for a few days. :(

-
So, we don't have any takers for the Click and the Mju?

Two great cameras just waiting for the taking
Here's the description of the click II
The Click II and Click I were simple non-focusing cameras for 6x6 images on 120 film.

The Click was yet another cheap Agfa camera designed for the masses, with a one-speed shutter and a few simple aperture options. Unlike its 6x9 brother the Clack, it was completely constructed out of plastic making it quite vulnerable to damage. (If you drop a Click, it will most likely break.) The main differences between the Clack and the Click is the lens: the Clack has a lens of f11 - f16 while the Click has a f8.8 -f11 lens. The Click is 6x6 camera (opposed to the 6x9 of the Clack) and thus is a little more economic. The Click lacks the Clack's socket for a cable release, and it's a mystery why Agfa decided to drop this feature. The Click II had an two-element achromat lens, while the cheaper Click I version had a simple meniscus. The images from the Click II are not bad for such a simple camera.

 Viewfinder

 One shutter speed (about 1/30th)

 Three lens settings:

4m/13ft - Inf with sunny or cloudy (f11 and f8?)

 2.5m/8f - 4m/13ft (remains at f8)

 Tripod mounting socket in base.

This is one of the classic lo-fi cameras and is quite hard to beat in that sense.
-
So, we don't have any takers for the Click and the Mju?

Two great cameras just waiting for the taking

Yes, careful. I might just keep the Click. This is the article (or rather the German version, but never mind) that prompted me to get it: http://ueberlicht.com/2013/agfa-click-ii-more-than-perfect/ (http://ueberlicht.com/2013/agfa-click-ii-more-than-perfect/)
-
I would like the Click if no one else has claimed it...

 I thought it was gone!

 I really would like it!

-
Yes, it's still available. It's yours Diane.

-
Yes, it's still available. It's yours Diane.

Diane or me???   I'm confused again!
-
What? Sorry Becky :) Yes, it's yours. Somehow I always mix up you two. Probably because you both live on the same continent ;)

-
Looks like it's my turn to offer something since I'm taking Urban's Click!

My offering is a neat little Jazz Jelly 35mm camera!
It's a bright see through sexy pink model 207.  It's the perfect thing for toy camera madness and shoots regular style and "fake" panorama style photos with the flick of a switch.
It uses a single AA battery (not included) for the onboard flash and will make anyone happy, happy, happy!
Please grab this one up for some extreme fun!
Edit:  It has a wide 27mm optical lens made in China! Woo-hooo!

It can be yours for the price of postage!
Becky, not Beck or Diane, but Becky of the astro kind   :P

-
Becky, not Beck or Diane, but Becky of the astro kind   :P

I'm glad we cleared that up once and for all ;)

 For offer are now:

 - Olympus mju-I from Verian
- Jazz Jelly 35mm camera from astrobeck

Sorry, Fluminian, but you'll have to take either of these cameras before you can offer one of your own. It just gets too confusing otherwise.
-

So, I should wait with my offer until someone else offers something I want?
-
exactly! Haven't seen anything that peaks my fancy. Any bronica stuff that anyone has though might have to get me digging for something to throw up afterward.

-
I'm really glad to see the Click get a good home.

But don't forget that lonely Mju. It too deserves a nice place in a warm camera bag :)

Here's a review of the Mju for those who still haven't made-up their mind
 http://pansfilmcameras.blogspot.ca/2011/04/olympus-stylus-infinity-mju-1-1.html (http://pansfilmcameras.blogspot.ca/2011/04/olympus-stylus-infinity-mju-1-1.html)
-
Ok, I think it's time for the poor little Mju to go back in the cupboard. Instead, how about a Canon Datematic!

That's right, the Canon Datematic. The Canon Datematic was a compact rangefinder camera introduced by Canon in 1974, which offered programmed autoexposure (powered by two mercury cells) and a 5-element 40mm f/2.8 lens. But the novel feature was optional date imprinting onto the bottom right corner of the film frame. There is no clock onboard, and so the numbers shown atop the lens barrel must be changed manually when the feature is wanted. Two-digit years only reached up to "83," although a blank space or 0-9 are also possible.
When using a matching Canon electronic flash, the aperture setting adjusts according to the distance focused, giving correct exposure automatically.

STAMP YOUR NEGATIVES with Years that have long since gone - what could be cooler.

-
OK, the Mju is now officially retired.

We now have a Pink Jellycam with flash and a Canon Datematic.

Who can resist a transparent camera?
The Jazz 207 is a "focus free" camera with built-in flash which uses 35mm film. Its body is typically made of colored, transparent plastic. It uses one AA battery to power a built-in flash of no great strength. It has a "panorama" mode in which it exposes only the middle 13×36 mm stripe of the film frame. It has a 27mm "optical" lens using a single element, which may show significant blurring in the corners of the frame.

Very similar cameras (with a "27mm Optical Lens" in an oval surround) have been seen with other brandings, for example the Cobra Crystal; or in other slightly different case styles. Jazz is a brand also seen on many cheap digital cameras, such as the Jazz JDC 9.

-
The datematic looks cool. In addition to confusing your friends with time warp date stamped photos, the optics are good. It is basically a late model of the famed Canonet series. It sounds quite comparable to the Canonet 28 - in fact some folks say the datematic has a better lens than the 28 -  http://pansfilmcameras.blogspot.ca/2011/11/canon-datematic.html?m=1

-
I should add that the rangefinder on the recent canons is very bright and easy to focus. The cameras are quite quiet and discrete. But unlike the Canonet 28, it has a Seiko Electronic shutter which is reliant on batteries.

Even if the camera was made for Mercury cells, I'm pretty sure it would work flawlessly with some alkalines.
-
the canonet 28 and ql17 would be fine on alkalines. From what the internet has told me in the past, there are very few cameras that won't actually work well with alkalines.

-
That Canonet looks yummy, Verian. I call dibs on it.  :)

-

 HUZZAH!!!!!!!

Just let me know where to send it :D

...and offering the Fujica S2 in near mint condition.

-
Urban will be wanting a twin to the one he already has, I just know it.

By the way Fluminian, does that come with any cassettes?
-
Haha I will toss my hat I the ring for the fuji too

Edit: 1) if Urban does not want it and, 2) mail from Croatia (I think) to Canada is not insane.
-
While we are tossing and turning...don't forget that it might be worth considering taking a camera here as a gift for someone else...since the holidays are nearing.

Don't you have someone on your list that needs a Pink Jazz Jelly panorama camera?
 Surely you do!
Come on, promote filmwasting on another level.   8)
Make someone's eyes light up when they receive your gift.

I'll even toss in a roll of old film to get you started....
 :)

Urban will be wanting a twin to the one he already has, I just know it.

Yes, the camera has two cassettes so the person who takes it needs just a film and little patience.  :)

-
Edit: 1) if Urban does not want it and, 2) mail from Croatia (I think) to Canada is not insane.

You go ahead, I have enough cameras ;D
-
So, will McDuff take the camera?

BTW, I found a nice article on the Lomo site about reloading these cassettes
 http://www.lomography.com/magazine/tipster/2013/03/15/how-to-reload-an-old-agfa-rapid-cartridge-with-35mm-film (http://www.lomography.com/magazine/tipster/2013/03/15/how-to-reload-an-old-agfa-rapid-cartridge-with-35mm-film)
-
OK, after Fluminian generously offered up his little fuji, I will put something up that from a similar era (OK a couple of years newer)...

I was talking up the Verian's Datematic a few days ago, because it is a fine camera. For those of you who missed the chance, now you get to own the camera the inspired the Datematic!! Yes the legendary Canonet 28!!

 (http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af136/mcduffco/Pics%20of%20Cameras/canonet28a_zpsb9435df6.jpg) (http://s1001.photobucket.com/user/mcduffco/media/Pics%20of%20Cameras/canonet28a_zpsb9435df6.jpg.html)

The 28 is part of the famous Canonet series. The 28 is one of the smaller Canonets. It is a little bit bigger than something like a Konica C35 but it is a nice size for bringing along when you cannot carry your larger gear. Plus I think it is has a nicer viewfinder & rangefinder patch than something like a C35.

 (http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af136/mcduffco/Pics%20of%20Cameras/canonet28b_zps024b699f.jpg) (http://s1001.photobucket.com/user/mcduffco/media/Pics%20of%20Cameras/canonet28b_zps024b699f.jpg.html)

This '28' is extra special as you will be the third 'waster to own it as it was once part of Tintin's livery. That should certainly increase its value.  ::) But that is not the only added value: For the 28 is also a classic "cameras in cinema" camera being front and centre in John Waters' film nerd epic* -- Pecker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pecker_%28film%29)

But wait! There is more!! It is also the star of some young adult SciFi movie I have never heard of**: I am Number Four (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Number_Four)

 (http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag28/Don_Duff_McC/Iamnumber4_zpsaabaa46a.png) (http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/Don_Duff_McC/media/Iamnumber4_zpsaabaa46a.png.html)

*Despite being a camera nerd, a film nerd, and someone that can tolerate John Waters on a good day, for some reason I have never seen this film.
**Until I just stumbled on it writing this up.  ;)

So take this baby off my hands, and shoot with some Canonet 28 goodness!!

I just want to mention the rules on shipping once again:
The person who wants a camera pays for the shipping. This avoids putting too much of a burden on the giver.
And if the giver insists on paying for postage, please be kind and send a little thank you gift in return.

Wait a second. Won't the sender also be the receiver and so everybody pays for the postage of the item he or she sends
and receives the item someone else paid the postage for?

-
Nope, but if you don't mind sending me money, I can take Paypal and American Express checks ;)

We do it this way so that people don't have to put up with excessive postage fees. If I were to put a big Graflex for trade, I'd be happy for the other one to pay for postage... especially if I opt to get my hands on a minox.

That way, it's more fair for everyone.

Graflex & Minox? Who would want that stuff when we have a sexy Jazz 207 jellycam and a debonair Canonet 28??  ::)

-
Whatever, I'll pay postage for my camera going to mcduff and expect that Verian pays the postage for his package to me.

I'm sorry, Verian. I still think that sender pays the postage is the best system. I don't mind that postage to Canada is more expensive than the one inside Europe.

 I'm cool with it.
-
The main thing is that both exchanging parties are happy with the outcome. But now, I have to drum up some promotion!

We now have a very lovely transparent camera from Becky. This is as lo-fi as it gets and is bound to have a definite place on your shelf. How many transparent cameras have you seen in your life? Not too many I bet! So here's a unique chance to get your grubby hands on one.

And we now have McDuff's very nice Canonet 28. I just bought one a few weekends ago and I must say it is rather lovely. It has a Copal mechanical shutter that is coupled with the meter. If you take the camera off automatic by rotating the aperture wheel, the camera drops in full manual mode with a single shutter speed (1/30 I read somewhere). The lens is a nice 40mm f/2.8 and the viewfinder has bright lines and a scale to show the shutter speed. The rangefinder is very bright and easy to see. I read somewhere that some even considered it the poor man's leica! And the design is just gorgeous...

So who will take one of those beauties home?
-
I can vouch for the 28. I owned this camera and the QL17 at the same time. I bought them together with a bunch of other rangefinders. I put a test roll through the 28. Loved the results more than my QL17. Personally I like the 28 more than the QL17. Focus wheel is more intuitive, lens seemed sharper. Build quality on these old canons is very good as well.

-
OK, this has been inactive for a few days now. So just a reminder of what's available.

Becky has to offer a very nice transparent camera. Lo-fi par excellence as I could say.
And McDuff has to offer a very minty and sweet Canonet 28 which is a real rangefinder, has excellent ergonomics and a superb lens!

If nobody wants to grab any one of these, I'll probably reset the thread tomorrow evening (around 6pm New-York time).

If you don't grab one of these by then, you'll just have to bite your fingers!
-
I will try to sweeten the pot by adding a roll of nice Fuji Neopan SS to my Canomet 28.

It is a traditional fine grain film which is usually the look I like and will work well with the Canonet. It is recently expired but is cold stored and I have shot it and it is great.

So now you have a option of a good little rangefinder AND a roll of film you may have never tried.

-
If nobody else wants to join and if I may,I would like to take the Canonet and offer the Ricoh TF-900 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/98922823@N00/7328898576/#)

 Edit: corrected the link
-
				No problem Fluminian.
So the Canonet and a roll of film for it goes to a new home (finally!)

I'm sure you'll find very nice.

And we now have a Transparent camera from Becky and a Ricoh TF-900

The Ricoh TF-500 or TF-900 is a late 80s compact camera with autofocus and a 35 mm lens, switchable to 70 mm through a button on the top. Its electronics are quite advanced for its time, with an information-rich LCD on the top, indicating number of exposures available, if the film is a DX coded one (and, if so, what speed), and if exposure compensation has been activated. It has a continous shooting mode, a self-timer and a backlight compensation button. The viewfinder indicates focusing zone using three symbols, a trait shared with the early generations of autofocus cameras but later abandoned. The date-back version was called the TF-500D/TF-900D. A rather hefty accessory 2x teleconverter, the TC-105, was also offered.

If no one else is interested in the Ricoh I'd adopt it. In its place I'll offer a Kodak Starflex (http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Kodak_Brownie_Starflex (http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Kodak_Brownie_Starflex)), 127 camera along with some indifferently stored (at least before I got it) very expired 127 colour film. I'm not sure how much 127 I have but whatever I find I'll include in the deal. I may also have a manual for the camera if I can find it.

All right, Hungry One, let me know your address so I can send the little bugger ASAP.  :)

				I just received Chalky's pack, thanks !

BTW, Chalky, I sent your pack on Thursday, just Forgot to tell you :/

OT: Just wanted to apologize to you guys who'd been waiting for me to chime in - I really wasn't in the mood for anything filmwastery, there were some difficult moments, let's just mention some unexpected "C" diagnosis in the family and an operation and so on... Trying to get back on track now.. I see that I missed some sweet cameras, especially those two canonets... Hopefully something nice will appear yet so that I may take part in the sharing as well...

Looking at the Starflex tonight it appears the shutter doesn't close correctly, so I'm going to retract that offer (unless somebody wants it regardless). I'll look through the collection and see if I can find something appropriate.

Indeed, I understand the situation completely as I'm now going through something similar (my mother was hit by a bus).
I hope the surgery was successful, Andrej.

Following on my previous listing, I thought I'd explore another undead format for this Share the Love: 110 film!

 Includes:

5 expired 110 colour film cartridges. Range from expired in 2000 to 1978. Indifferently stored before I got them.

The first camera in this lot, the Gaf 220 -
 (http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6003/5927977232_d66ed43e95.jpg)
Boring camera? Maybe but to understand 110 what better place then to use an old viewfinder camera. No bells & whistle, pure 110 simplicity. Awesome fuzzy, tiny frames.

Second camera, the Kodak Trimlite Instamatic 28 -
 (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7183/6831995548_65f5bc0733.jpg)
Here we're moving on up the 110 ladder. Lens is a 25mm f9.5, fixed-focus lens. Exposure is automatic with the CDS cell which automatically sets the electronic shutter with speeds of 1/30 to 1/160. Flash speeds of 1/30 to 1/160. Has a Tripod socket. Included will be a display box, mostly unused flash bar, manual & papers, 1 spent and broken K battery which you could rebuild (https://web.archive.org/web/20060813112707/http://mywebpages.comcast.net/youngds/110Cameras/Kfactour/TheKFactour.htm (https://web.archive.org/web/20060813112707/http://mywebpages.comcast.net/youngds/110Cameras/Kfactour/TheKFactour.htm)) or you could use a replacement like this (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcdurl/6859934133/#in/set-72157629278980033/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcdurl/6859934133/#in/set-72157629278980033/)).

 And finally, the Instamatic 60
 (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7049/6859934243_e156bdfe1c.jpg)
The Cadillac of the Kodak 110 cameras! Pure rangefinder goodness and remarkably sharp for a 110 camera. Lens is 26mm f2.7 to f17.0, has a coupled rangefinder focusing lens (3 feet to infinity). The electronic shutter has speeds of 5 seconds to 1/250 and flash speeds of 1/30 to 1/250. CDS metre provides programmed, automatic exposure control. Includes tripod and cable release sockets. Impressive for a 110 camera, eh?  Along with it I will include, that rare beast, a working K battery! And best of all... it comes with a leather pouch which clips to your belt with a sticker which reads: Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)! Imagine, this camera might have accompanied some brawny sailor traveling the waves rescuing people from the cold North Sea! So this is a camera with history and the 110 camera that you want.

A great starter collection for anyone wanting to dip their toe in the world of 110 or for an old hand who wants to walk down that tiny frame path!

-
Looking at the Starflex tonight it appears the shutter doesn't close correctly, so I'm going to retract that offer (unless somebody wants it regardless). I'll look through the collection and see if I can find something appropriate.

 Mike,
I just acquired a Brownie Starflash with the same problem. It is a pretty simple camera to disassemble and a tiny drop of bicycle chain oil got that shutter clicking away just perfectly!

 James
-
Thanks, Jharr! I'll try that but I think the 110 lot I just put up is an adequate replacement for the Starflex. If nobody is interested in that I'll relist the Starflex 127 film lot.

-
So for now, we have the transparent camera that is still waiting for a good home and a lot of three 110 cameras with film.

Who will want this 110 goodness? Film is still available from Impossible and it's easy to modify a paterson reel to take 110.
-
				Impossible sells 110? I didn't know that.

Lomography, of course, sells fresh 110 film in a few different flavours: B&W, slide, colour negative, and red scale. The Film Photography Project also sells 110 including the hard-to-find Fukkatsu 400.

There are also some DIY 110 film projects out there for reloading the cartridges: http://www.instructables.com/id/Disassemble-and-Reload-a-110-Film-Cartridge/ (http://www.instructables.com/id/Disassemble-and-Reload-a-110-Film-Cartridge/) and this one http://www.instructables.com/id/Pocket-Instamatic/ (http://www.instructables.com/id/Pocket-Instamatic/). Lomography also sells a film holder for 110 for scanning but you can make your own mask: http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-Scanner-Mask-for-110-Film/ (http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-Scanner-Mask-for-110-Film/). So lots of options for the crafty 110 user.

Ya francois was just mixing up his retro companies  ;)

The lomo orca film is quite good. I have had a lot of fun scanning it.

The instamatic 60 is really an incredible little camera, btw. I have one (and will take the blame for hungry mikes 110 collection exceeding what it needed to be). In many ways it is impressive as the pentax auto 110 (I own both). The 60 is really well built, with a great lens and the rangefinder is surprisingly good for such a small package. I think it is one of the better built kodak cameras since its golden age (of retinas, etc). Given that the 60 cost almost $150 in 1972 -- which would be over $750 today (according to my iphone, haha), it is not a wonder it is solidly built.

I know... I meant Lomo... it happens even to me!

impossible! (PUN very much intended)  :P
-
				 :)
You say that just because you haven't seen the latest 110 integral... nice but it's a real b**** to see those tiny pictures without a magnifier!  :P
-
Don't tell McDuff he'll talk me into one!

This Yankee tank and reel adjusts to take 110. I have one and have developed a couple of rolls of Orca. I usually wouldn't recommend a Yankee tank as I find them poorly made, but this one works, even though it is flimsy.

OK, just to make sure this doesn't disappear.
We still have a fantastic transparent camera from becky and a whole bunch of 110 cameras from Hungry Mike.

Don't you know that 110 is all the rage these days?

There's a whole bunch of good stuff just waiting to be picked.
Who will be the lucky one?

I'm letting this go until Monday morning. Then, I'll just reset everything and we'll start anew... unless we have a taker.
-
All the cool kids are doing 110 these days!

To sweeten my 110 lot, McDuff has kindly offered to throw in a fresh cartridge of Lomography 110 - your choice of redscale or B&W.

Don't let the tiny frame revolution pass you by!
-
I might have a special deal for this kit. I contacted another member and possibly will strike a deal with an exception that is still in the spirit of the thread though not the usual way we do things... Lets just wait and see...

-
Hungry Mike, I'll will take your 110 kit !

I'm giving away my Konica Big Mini Jr., you can see photos here http://www.filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=6172 (http://www.filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=6172)
-
Great. Email me and I'll get it out to you on Monday. Let me know what your preference is for fresh Lomography 110 that McDuff has kindly offered (choice of the B&W and the red scale).

The Konica looks nice (stickers & all)!
-
Yay! And the nice 110 kit goes to Paul!

We now have a Big Mini Jr. with some totally cool Filmwasters punchtape and an X-Large sticker on the back!
 Here's the pictures

Wow Fluminian! The fujica got here fast and it looks great. While I have a lot of experience with cameras from this period there is something about if that looks super modern, it sort of reminds me of the look of a Pen F (to compare it to quite a different camera). It's low height (due to the simplified design of the Rapid system) helps with the sleek design.

I played with loading the rapid system (with some test film) and it works fine. I have a busy next few days but I will try to shoot something for the weekend.

Anyhow thanks again! And everyone else pick one of these fine cameras and lets keep share te love moving!

-
Now that you have the little Fujica in your hands I hope to see some pictures soon.
After all the weekend is already here.  :)

-
				December is here!
And with all the big Xmas spending that's coming up and all the planning it requires, I'm stopping the share the love to make place for the best of the season.

So a big thank you to all who participated!

And get ready for another round some time next year.

In the mean time, enjoy your trades :)
-
				Thanks Francois!
Maybe after Santa comes there will be a new collection of cameras ready to be be shared!
-
				We can always hope!

-
Thank you Francois for all the camera "wrangling" and keeping this going!
It was great fun and I wish you and everyone a healthy and a happy holiday season.

 Enjoy your cameras!

 Becky

You're all welcome. I didn't get anything this time but we never know what's going to pop up.

-
I still have not received cameras from mcduff and Verian. I know mcduff has received my Fujica,
but I don't know if Hungry Make got the Ricoh yet.
-
As the package I sent had a roll of film in it, I hope it will arrive sometime before the it expires!  ;)

They did say it would take some embarrassingly long time

No worries, Don. I like shooting with expired films.  ;)

It's Christmas time and it's expected the shipping is taking a bit longer than normal.
I just want to know if Mike got the Ricoh.

-
I sent mine about a week ago so it should be there soon.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Thanks, Verian. I usually get packages from the UK within a week or two so I probably get yours next week.

-
I just want to know if Mike got the Ricoh.
Fluminian, sorry I forgot to let you know. It did arrive, however, the camera was damaged in shipping. No outward damage but the shutter refuses to fire.

Damn. I can't believe it. I packed it so well. Have you used the correct battery? The camera needs a lithium 2CR5 battery.
-
I'll have another look but I believe I had the right batteries in it. It is possible I'm doing something wrong but shutter wouldn't go and the film advance wasn't working. I was pretty disappointed as I was looking forward to trying it out.

For what its worth, Canada Post had put the box in a plastic bag which usually means it got to them in bad shape and they were worried it wasn't going to make it to me.
-
This is what I got on the Ricoh TF9 (I think that's what it was)
 Power: 1 x DL223A/BR-P2DP 6 V lithium battery.

BTW, is it just me or has Canada Post been getting worse ever since they announced that they would fire most mailmen by 2019?
I haven't seen the mailman all last week and I'm waiting for some of my xmas gifts to arrive by mail...... doesn't sound too promising.

The camera needs just one battery of the 2CR5 kind. I think the camera should be O.K. cause I wrapped it in bubble wrap.

Thanks, Francois. Those are probably the equivalents to 2CR5 that I used with the camera and made a lot of good pictures.
