Introducing The Homemade Camera Podcast Zine
« on: September 06, 2019, 09:26:31 PM »
Camera makers/modders will be interested in this review in Popular Photography of a zine by the Homemade Camera Podcast people ...

It's a short excerpt (where they struggle to get my name right) of the first Homemade Camera Zine No.1, which is available as a pdf from here ...

but can also be pre-ordered as a print version from CameraDactylfor $10 +pp. European buyers should select the postal option carefully as the total is $23.

I thought this type of thing would send Francois into orbit.
Many good ideas, but much short on descriptions and details.

As the the voice over said in ‘The Prisoner’;
“Information, we want Information.”
Or something like that.

Presumably you are referring to the zine itself?
True, they could have had just half the cameras and doubled the detail.
But I'd suggest covering 30+ cameras, plus the makers' contact details is a fair starting point.

I originally thought about participating but in the end opted not to as I don't have enough satisfying photos taken with my contraptions. But I also must say I'm a really bad judge when it comes to what I produce, especially these days where I feel like I'm making more junk than anything....

But I must say that when I looked at the zine I was quite impressed. Lots of inspiring stuff in there.
If they decide to go for a second zine I'll try and send some stuff. I have to get some film through some of my older contraptions.

As for the Prisoner, that was definitely an interesting show. When I first saw it, I didn't get it. But when I found the first episode on YouTube a few weeks ago, it was definitely good.
