****, it's the weekend again.
« on: April 26, 2019, 11:35:41 AM »
I was in Rochester, Kent, a couple of weekends ago for an Art Medal conference, but grabbed a few minutes here and there with the Paradox Pinhole and some ancient Neopan 400.
Lots of Charles Dickens haunts around the town.

Including Eastgate House, a 16th century town house, shot with the Hasselblack 3 on Acros. Dickens had a writer's shed in the garden at the back.

My grandson with my father.

Minolta Autocord with Cinestill 800T. I read that Cinestill 800T was good for mixed light situations, especially when shot around 500. So that's what I did, and it delivered -- indoor with various incandescent and fluorescent and indirect sunlight ambient light sources.

Thanks. I picked up the little Manfrotto Pixi tripod a while back - which means seeking out bins or bollards to perch it on!

Grandson and father:  subject, light, color, all beautiful—just real nice.  Thanks.

Those colors look great Hookstrapped, I've had mixed results with that film, sometimes the colors were great, sometimes not so great.  Maybe I should have exposed it at 500 like you did.

I was testing out some of the new CatLABS X Film 80.  This is a long exposure shot with my Bronica ETRSi with a PE 50mm f/2.8 lens.  It does well being developed in beer.  I had some exposure problems in dim light and it would be nice to have a reciprocity curve.

Peter those are both lovely portraits.

Philly is warming so the city is waking up. Tomorrow Miguel and I will spend some shoe leather and see what's up.

I'll add my praise to the other comments on Peter's photos, in particular the shot with his father. Your grandson will come to cherish this and other photographs as he gets older.

My parents and my in-laws all passed before our grandchildren came along, but I do have several photographs of my grandparents with my children. This one is of my grandfather meeting my daughter, named after his sister, for the first time.

Mamiya C3 TLR, 80/2.8, and Kodacolor 400 (which demonstrates how much color film has improved over the past 40 years)

Love the first Pinhole Sandeha!
KaiSan, I have a Pilot Super in my drawer at home. I guess I have to reactivate it seeing your pictures.

Thanks Manuel! Yes, I really think you should get it out of the drawer, it's a wonderful camera despite it's age.

Yesterday, I went to Fall River, Massachusetts, on an otherwise dreary, cold morning to watch the demolition of two 500-foot-high cooling towers.  There was a band.  I had an Olympus 35RC loaded with Fomapan 100 that I developed in Caffenol C-L.

I posted an essay with more details:  http://www.filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=9807.0

Here is a sample of two.
