I took advantage of cheap short dated Provia this week from B&H and took it out for a walk. (It was fresh last week and expired today, haha!) It's interesting to compare it to Ektachrome now that Ektachrome is easy to find. In my case I'm finding that Ektachrome likes an 81A filter, and Provia does not. This image scanned too warm and required some adjusting in Photoshop. The roll was too warm on the light table too so I'll use no filter next time. Living and learning.

I have been out enjoying playing with the Linhof  4x5 using Delta 100 and Forma 200. Both developed in HC110 (b). It's tough lugging it around but worth it for the practice

I discovered I still have one roll of 120 Acros. I wonder if I'll keep it as long as my last roll of Neopan 1600? Nah Grit, I must shoot them soon.

I once came up with the idea that if both subject and camera are moving around, then 35mm was most appropriate; if either the subject or the camera was stationary and the other one moving, then 120 was appropriate; and if both subject and camera were stationary then it's a good excuse for 4x5.  I did carry a 4x5 up a mountain once, but only once.  Good to see you don't feel constrained by such ideas, Irv.

I stuck myself in the studio for this 4x5 selfie on Fomapan 200 sheet with a 175mm meniscus lens.

It has been chilly.  The mist on Woonsocket Falls was icing as soon as it contacted anything.  Here are a couple of shots of the fence.

Happy to be back.

Some great posts this weekend. All are terrific.

Mine is from a "new to me" Olympus OM3 and 85mm f2 - using Ilford XP2 Super.  Taken out on the Suffolk coast at Aldeburgh.

From a recent walk along the various alleys in my neighborhood, a rather forlorn 1958 or 59 Rambler American. Shortly after I made this picture, the car's owner graced it with a new cover, so perhaps there's hope for it yet.

I like the winter lights shot David!

These are Rodinal Crystals grown from a 1:50 mixture at 100X magnification.  Photographed with a Leica IIIc mounted to a Leitz SM microscope, 8 second exposure under Polarized light.  The film is Ilford Pan F 50+ developed in Rodinal 1:50 of course.

cool to see Rodinal in a different light and scale. Cool!
Mine is a Holga shot made with a glass lensed version given to me by fellow Filmwaster and local legend Joe Van Cleave.
I had concerns the glass lens would render things too sharp, but after using my first roll in it, my worries are unfounded....
Ultrafine Xtreme 400 film dunked in my usual caffenol for 7 minutes.
I like this film. You can find it online in sample packs of six rolls for not much money. Three rolls each of 100 and 400 speed. There are some bad reviews of it online, but so far I've had good luck and I've been using it for about a year.

Seems pretty good... And so far I've never found a film that is really bad. It depends so much on processing...

So... How's Joe doing? Haven't seen him in a while...

Joe's doing well. I saw him and had a good visit today at our monthly film users of New Mexico get together. Maybe he and Mike will post something.
