I love that first shot! Reminds me of when I lived in Southwest Kansas, with the abandoned farms and such. Both of the pictures below were taken with the Bronica ETRSi, which is slowly taking over all my film shooting. I have not used a 35mm camera since last time I met with Satish in Philly.

This one was taken yesterday using Portra 160, exposed with an incident light meter (Minolta Autometer IV-F) at 80 ASA.

This one was taken a few days ago on my last "test roll". Ilford HP5+, stand-developed in Rodinal 1:100. Used Sunny 16 for this one.

Something I am still getting used to is the manual focusing with the split prism. I'm so used to AF cameras that focusing on this takes me time and effort, and some of my shots are out of focus, although sometimes I feel that the curled negatives have something to do with the "softness" of the scans. The Epson negative holders are atrocious.

Great start for this weekend! Bryan's house and Manuel's dune caught my eye.

I've got two from Denmark (Canon F-1, Fomapan 100, Caffenol-C-H (RS)):

Quite like cs1's grasses - great sense of depth - and Manuel's dune, with its natural geometry.

Mine are again from Maine.

Another outstanding weekend gallery. My "retinal" metering system was somewhat out of adjustment this week at a family party. I thought I was comfortably overexposing by a stop or so, but much of what I shot is underexposed. Will have to work on that in the coming weeks.

Leica M4-P, 35mm Summicron, and Fomapan 200, which has more grain than I expected although that could be related to the exposure issues and whatever chemistry my lab uses.

Miguel, I love your Hurry Up portrait.  I’m sure we’ve all gotten that look while we’re fiddle with our old fashioned cameras, you captured it perfectly.

Earl, I always have the same problem estimating exposure in low light.  I try to over expose a bit and end up with with underexposed shots.  I think the adjustments I make to the scans bring out more grain when I try to compensate for the underexposure.

I wish I had some color to contribute, but I don't. Just this old ratty basketball hoop/net. I hear there is a tournament of some sort going on now.

Some color from me from an expired Kodak disposable.
800 speed film expired 2006, kept in a hot truck and basically ignored for a while...decided to use it up over the weekend on a little drive up the Rio Grande to Taos.
The Milkweed shot was an aim and shoot from the hip as I don't always easily get back up from a low knee locked squat position anymore...especailly in the middle of cactus plants....
Fun camera...I'll be reloading it for another go...
p.s. these are scans of prints. I like prints!

Becky, you do better shooting from the hip with a disposable than I do shooting at eye level with an SLR!   :o

Wow.
Some great stuff, and that opening shot is a tremendous study...

My GR1 (http://www.filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=771.0) died, so I've replaced it with a Klasse W.
Not as sharp - is anything? - but still nice to use, and gives decent results.

Out testing both the Klasse W with Portra 400 and new suspension on a friend's NSX:

Hey!
Thanks for the welcome...
Life I guess, including new jobs, a new house http://japan-minka.tumblr.com under reform, and still upset about no more Polaroid pack film.

Welcome back Skorj, your Kura is beautiful.  The detail of the woodwork with that type of construction always amazes me.

Wow! That is a nice house!
Just look at all this nice woodworking... you don't see carpentry like that around here.

And when you see how these things are usually made without using sandpaper to make fine adjustments at all, it's amazing.
