I only came to know about the book’s publisher, Steidl Verlag, last year, after reading a profile of Steidl in the New Yorker.  Steidl is a hero and his company is a great advocate for photography.  According to Erb, Leiter enjoyed late-in-life widespread recognition (and financial success) only after Steidl published a book on Leiter’s early color photos.
