Super exciting! I used to love Ektachrome, and I look forward to shooting that! At the other end of TMAX 3200 is Panatomic X which I used to love when I was a youngun. It was gorgous, and I also thought the name sounded awesome (like some dangerous chemical or weapon in a comic book or something)!

This film was just insane in a sense. Finest grain I've ever seen.

I'd love them to bring back HIE.
Ilford SFX is good, but only quasi-InfraRed.The Rollei Infrared is pretty good and I've used that a few times.
While they're both more convenient to use than HIE was (not needing to be loaded in complete darkness), they don't have that wonderful glow to them.
The first time I heard about HIE was through the late Simon Marsden's wonderfully atmospheric views of old ruins and spooky places.
So my very last roll of HIE was shot in Highgate Cemetery.

Not to be a downer, but that article is almost a year old. I'd love to see it happen, but I want to see how the Ektachrome relaunch goes before I get my hopes up.

Yeah, old article, Did see something on Twitter about Ektachrome being out in Q1, but hoping Kodak doesn't completely screw the pooch on being bitcoin wannabes - because I suspect that's all the new South Sea Bubble or Tulipomania for the 21st century.

First thing I noticed was the date.
And no ektachrome yet.....what a surprise, or maybe not.
I'm getting so I simply don't believe any of this non news till the shelves and warehouse at B&H are both stocked and about to break under the strain. Announcments are free and are worth as much as you paid for them.
Kind of like the Film Ferrania site. After so much hoopla about a new B&W, P30, one batch and poof, thats it. "The shop will reopen soon"? Soon....soon......oh yes! Soon! Definately sometime before continental drift reforms pangaea.
There has to be a agreed upon defination of 'soon', so that anyone cannot employ that word unless it means the agreed upon defination.

Well, I'm not surprised. This is the same scenario that Impossible faced when they set out to recreate the Polaroid films. To revive old films with the chemicals that are legal today is not easy, Impossible did not even have the original recipe from Polaroid. At least Kodak is doing an effort to bring back these films unlike Polaroid who panicked and came up with some ill-conceived products that they thought would appeal to the hipsters of the day.

I feel like they would bring back Plus-X after ektachrome. Right now Kodak doesn't have a low speed classic grained BW film. They only have Tmax 100.

I still have a few rolls of Plus-X from when I bought all I could reasonably store in my fridge when they announced its termination.  I would be a very happy camper if they brought this film back.

Same for me about Plus X.
I have a dwindling stash....it would be great to have it back again.
I'd probably shoot it exclusively if it was on the shelf all the time.

Well, except for paper negatives, but you know how that goes...
