Have a great weekend, everyone!

This is Kodak Tri-X 400 pushed to 1600 and developed in Ilfotec DD-X for... Uh... 15 minutes?

I'll stick with HP5 and DD-X for pushing. Unless I get another developer, then I'll try Tri-X again.

I'm a sucker for sunflowers, oh and old trees, oh and grainy wildflowers. This is a banner weekend for me! I'm enjoying everything!

Here's another Aerecon II shot from the K1000. Shot at 125 and dev'd in parodinal for not enough time (but still scanable).

Special thanks to Peter for fixing my Baby Rolleiflex, this is the first roll through it and it works perfect.  Rera Pan 100 developed in beer.

OK, some additional color for Kai-san. Another shot from the archive, from Summer 1983, the daughter of some friends.

Pentax MX, 100mm 2.8, and some type of color negative film, probably Kodak.

Happy to have helped. You seem to be having more success with Rera Pan than I do.

Great set this weekend. Becky's bird and Bryan's first (very Pink Floyd album cover....) are my faves.

Mine's a taxi driver's chair at the taxi-rank near Paphos harbour. It was HOT. I suspect he'd gone for a siesta....  Leica MP + Kodak Pro Image 100 and 35mm Summicron.

On August 19, some people characterized by the press as alt-right white supremacists—probably accurately—organized a "free-speech" rally in Boston.  Their rally was eclipsed by many thousands of anti-hate protesters trying to make a statement about the events in Charlottesville, Virginia.  These three are from that day.  I guess that I didn't get close enough.  It seemed to me to be more of a festival than protest.  (A second Boston rally took place this weekend, largely unobserved.  A rally also took place this weekend in Charlottesville.)

I'm rather late but would like to say that I appreciate all contributions very much. It's almost impossible to pick a fav, they are all fine, yet I would like to point out hookstrappeds 2nd of 3. He's the flash master at ambient light.

Nothing new on film from me for now, so here are 2 of the festival 2 months ago. It was good to bring a weatherproof camera. Olympus SuperZoom 110, Kentmere 400, Caffenol-C-M(rs).

I'm still alive. Been super busy with work over the last month. Finally had some time to finish off the roll I started over a month ago and get in the darkroom to print some shots.

Ive also had a hard time with the transition from scanning to printing. I'm used to a certain type of look from the scans that I just don't get from printing. I'm back in the world where developer and film combos influence your final look a lot more than with scanning where you can do whatever you want basically.

I've switched from xtol to rodinal. I'm really liking the way that its handling my highlights. I found Xtol not so great for darkroom printing and my prints lacked that bite or pop. It also didnt help that I was trying to replicate my look that I use when scanning which is more flat, but with some extra sauce in the shadows and highlights.

I do also have a roll from the pentax I have to get processed so maybe I'll have something next week too

I agree.  My offerings this week were made on Ilford Pan F+ and developed in Xtol 1:3.  The Xtol working solution was from a liter bottle—the fourth of five prepared last May—that had been stored in a cool area of my basement in a tightly stoppered full bottle.  All the previously used bottles of the same batch yielded excellent negatives—same film, same camera, same iso.  This time, the negatives came out very thin.  They scan well enough but I think that it will be very difficult to get satisfying prints from them.  I have to think chemical failure.  It's amazing that Xtol works so well is some ways but, apparently, it doesn't store predictably (and it's not good for stand development.)  Rodinol, on the other hand, just seems to improve with age...

I make my own X-tol and the syrup seems to keep indefinitely. When I want to use it I can dilute 1:20 to get standard stock activity or dilute more for longer dev times. It is always one shot after the dilution, so I don't worry about storing it. It costs just over $3 to make 50mL of the concentrate (0.3 cents per mL of stock dilution). Commercial X-tol comes to about 20 cents per mL of stock dilution, so the economy is in my happy range and it doesn't die unexpectedly. The only tricky part is weighing out sub-gram amounts of phenidone, but that can be worked around.

Stock solution in propylene glycol / triethanolamine:

Start with 13.4 ml hot triethanolamine
25 ml hot propylene glycol
11.5 g ascorbic acid
0.15 g phenidone

Stir until all solids have dissolved (it will take quite a while, and may require the addition of 1-2 ml of water). Dilute with hot propylene glycol to a final volume of 50 ml.

Working solution: The stock solution should keep indefinitely. For use, dilute 1+19 with water containing 60 g/L sodium sulfite — the resulting solution matches the activity of stock XTOL. To create something like XTOL 1+1, dilute 1+39 with water containing 30 g/L sodium sulfite.

It will keep forever simply because you use propylene glycol as a solvent. If it's boiled to remove all moisture before adding the other chemicals, it won't go bad.
The problem comes when you add water. It seems that the air present in the water is quite variable from place to place. That's the only thing I can think of that would make things go bad...
