Keeping me busy!  I have finally got a new job,  3 hours closer to my house so hopefully you will see me around here a bit more.   I actually posted off 5 rolls of film to get processed,  first time I have broken out the cameras in a loooooong time. 

I hope everyone has been keeping well.

3 hours closer, now that is worth every penny. I just couldn't believe how you could survive that commute from hell!

Here, we've been staying quiet. A bit too quiet for my taste but with everybody being so busy and worried, I can understand.

On the plus side  - I think I managed to watch pretty much every TV show I've wanted to watch over the last few years, Sopranos, the Wire, Narco's, Oz - the list really does go on (and on...)

Our plan for the day is to meet at "The Frontier" on Central at 8 a.m. for coffee and then walk the area around the University of New Mexico and along old Route 66.

Film's drying as I type.

Only managed ten frames though. Five before lunch and five after. Maybe I should have skipped lunch and found two more.

Thanks to Nigel for arranging. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's 12 frames.

It was a choice between that as a potential problem for me, and shooting 6x9.  I chose the latter.

Well, for once we ended up with nice but slightly cool weather. I was the only photographer in town (well, photography isn't actually popular here). Saw some nice old houses and a few things I wasn't expecting.
Had a slight distraction on the first frame, so I started the film on 2 
Also, I didn't remember that Tri-X had such a robust AH layer... even with plenty of pre-soak, fixing and over 20 minutes washing I still have some blue stain on the film!
But anyways. I did a rush job scanning and just need to fiddle things a bit more. A few of the images were just blah.
But since I was using a vintage Diana, it's no big deal there as I had 16 available frames

My roll is drying.

This was great fun to explore the UNM campus and see some nice architecture. Also to discover a collection of Frida Kahlo photos is on display at the Art Museum there, so a trip back is in order.

I'm pleased everyone had a good day. It was great to catch up with people and forced me to put my creative brain in gear for one day at least.

I'll start a separate thread for posting pictures. We also talked about making a simple online gallery so everyone's work could be shown to together. If you think that's a good idea let me know and I'll look at the options? A free Wordpress site will probably be easiest.
