Unless I'm very mistaken, that lass is giving you "the look". However, I dread to think where her digit's just been, given the look on the face of the bloke on the right hand side

Always wanted a Leica with an old lens with glow and soft corners. Never had the money for it. Then one day someone gave me a clunky Canon MC for free. Very nice. Heaps of glow and soft corners. I'm happy:

This week I have shot an expired film that I really like (for a change), the Fujicolor Press 400.

Contax RX / Yashica ML Macro 100mm f3.5 / Expired Fujicolor Press exp. at box speed.

moved to colour now - used a film I had available: Kodak Ektar 100. Have read this is a difficult one. Certainly my experience but then I am struggling a bit with manual exposure, the light hasn't been too great, scanning is still a bit hit or miss (creating huge files!). Just a bit treatment with PS to lift the blue.

Another great weekend thread. Really like O2 Pilot's lakeside shot and Fluminian's twisty tree.

Mine are a few from a trip to a local railway museum. I'll see if I can post a few more onto the "Essay" thread. Leica MP and 35mm / 50mm Summicrons + Kodak TMax 400 on a very dull day.

Mine's a recent scan from an old print. Washington DC back in 1987. Plastic camera & generic film probably. My friends, Steve & Molly after Steve got his prized PE shirt ripped during a fight at a Naked Raygun show earlier that afternoon.

If ever I am in the neighborhood—wherever the neighborhood might be—then I will want to visit LD's local railway museum.

I am making some progress working (for fun) through my self-designed Caffenol tutorial. Many thanks, Reinhold, for providing the excellent text on-line for all.

These two, of the Providence, Rhode Island waterfront, are made on FP4+ in a Century Graphic 23 with a 90mm Angulon lens. It took one or two attempts, but I think that I now have the correct amount of restrainer in the soup. I really enjoy using Caffenol C-L. Film developed in it seems to require far fewer adjustments after the negatives are scanned.

Mine is from this afternoon with the Spotmatic F and f/1.8 Takumar 55mm lens and Arista 100.

There's a spot in my back yard where a hawk has had her lunch. It may be a bit sad, yet life goes on.

An experiment in abstracting a NSFW post into something SFW.

I've done 3D gifs but I thought why not get a little more out there (5th Dimension? My beautiful balloon?) with a sequence of pics taken in sequence instead of at the same time as in a 3D or stereo camera.

I'm struggling with the crop on this one. The original has a lot more negative space at the top right. Mathematical me says to put the singer's head right at the intersection of the rule of thirds lines, but artistic me says that doesn't look right. This crop is a compromise between the two, so neither of me is happy

There are so many ways to compose other than the rule of thirds.
Golden ratio, Fibonacci sequence, diagonal, and so on.
From memory, Eric Kim had a good video on composition on YouTube

This may not be a credible defence when accused of a serious crime but, IMO, it fits perfectly for "artistic" and "aesthetic" rules.....

I understand what you are trying to achieve but in my opinion the cycle speed is too fast to appreciate the images.

I know I always tend to crop fairly tight, so if it was my print I would probably chop out a heck of a lot of stuff on the right where basically nothing is going on (and the blackness doesn't bring an air of mystery to the image either). But that's just my 2¢ worth.

Spent the day in a smaller town about 2 hours drive from where I live. We've had a good snow year, so the waterfalls have been fantastic:
