a couple NYC exhibitions that are worth a visit

Satish and I went to see Richard Mosse's new work on Syrian refugees, using military thermal heat cameras. Each mind-boggling pic is made up of a hundreds of pics stitched together -- not analog, but Richard Mosse's earlier work used Kodak Aerochrome color infrared film so I figure he's legit :)

and then a couple blocks away we stumbled upon that Japanese photographer who cuts up contact sheets to make these panoramas of cities that look like 16th century maps

Both were great. Huge pictures that really needed to be huge and seen in person because they are both enormous in scope and have incredible small details. Def worth a trip down to Chelsea
