That is sad.  It is photography related, astronauts have taken some of the most amazing and iconic photos in history.  I'll have to look up if John Glen took any, I'm sure he did.

Farewell John, you were one of the heroes of my childhood.

Also I will never forget the daylong live broadcasts of the 1st moon landing in 1969 in german TV. Tonight I will attend a concert and maybe can convince the friendly musicians to play "fly me to the moon" in honor of Mr. Glen.
