Isn't it funny how bets can make people do stupid things?
After reading this I can just imagine the discussion that lead to it :)

I don't get it. He could have attached the can directly to his film holder. The potato doesn't serve any purpose. Now, if he had cooked the potato, mashed it up and mixed it with some epoxy and then shaped it into a camera with an opening for the pinhole in front and a compartment for film or paper in the back. Then you would have something!  ???

I wonder how much fake potatoes go for on eBay?
These are used for many photo shoots and some tv shows...
