Advice for Pentax 67 strap alternatives
« on: October 07, 2016, 03:20:49 PM »
Hi filmwasters,

I have been looking for a solution to get a strap for my Pentax 67 without spending a fortune.
The original straps or only the eyelets come for 35 - 80 €, mostly from Japan or the US.
There are eyelet alternatives but I didn't find one that looks trustworthy to me.
Since the camera is so heavy I don't want to worry about the eyelets to break/bend or the little holder part
to accidentally slip off.

Maybe someone can recommend an alternative strap/holder?

Thanks!
Marcus

I use this if I am wearing the ETRSi and the Omega Rapid for a long time (street shooting) walking around and I must say it is very comfortable over the shoulder for hours on end

I don't use mine for such heavy cameras but I have both a Tamrac Neoprene strap and one from Kata that could very well hold the big Pentax.
They're both very comfy too... though the neoprene can get a bit hot in the summer.

If it works for my Bronica S2a, it should work like magic for your Pentax.

Thanks for all the responses!

I came across the Optech Clips, bit since they don't "click" in, like the original ones do, I thought it might me too risky.
The Op/Tech Super Pro B is supposed to be used with the 67 but why are the clips rectangular, since the littler holder knobs on the camera
body are round?
I found something on eBay with a round shape and the seller told me that his customers gave him feedback that the clips work
very nice with the Pentax 67.

Still don't know if this is the best solution.

I wanted to give a short update.
I bought the clips I mentioned above, they work very well.
It is really an advantage to carry the camera on your shoulder instead of carrying it with your hand all the time.
Together with a nice black Pentax camera strap in almost new condition the solution cost me 20€, which is fine.
