Big wheel, in and out of the sun.

I like that Ferris wheel shot, Sandeha.  Beautiful on many fronts!

Mine's a bit of color.  Had to satisfy the LF urge so I took out the Korona and some Ektar 4x5 and shot this backlit sunflower in my neighbor's garden.

Sandeha: Is that the Eye of London?

Terry: I wonder what you neighbor would have thought if he saw you lugging a 4x5 camera, meticulously setting it up in front of the flower, getting light readings, etc :D

Andreas: What a weird angle for the drawbridge. Can't say I've ever seen one that doesn't just open like a horizontal gate.

Me, I have shot maybe a thousand photos in the past week and a half, which is very unusual for me. Mostly it's because I was hired to do 2 portrait shoots, and predictably most of that thousand was d*****l. But I did manage to slip in a few rolls of film, particularly the first guy who I shot was initially attracted to my film shots so I shot him on Extachrome, Cinestill, and TMax. This is an Ektachrome shot from that session:

I'm trying to use up a lot of my expired film this summer.  This is Kodak Gold Ultra 400 that expired 04/1996 shot at 100 ISO. The camera was a Petri FT.  I used a Soligor Auto-Zoom f/4.5 90mm - 230mm lens for the aircraft carrier shot.

Just a little something I took while on a bike ride a few weeks ago. Leica IIIc, Canon 100/3.5, HP5+ in Caffenol C-H(RS):

Superb show as always. The crossed Ektachrome portrait is fabulous.

Can't resist to show more from my last little project. Coffee and no end in sight. APX 400 new in Caffenol - of course.

Extremely nice set shaping up this week.  Faves are Sandeha's first and Gimenosaiz' portraits.

Mine is from a few years back - the Black Cuillin on Skye taken from the bridge at Sligachan. Nikon F5, 24mm f2.8 and Fuji Velvia 100f

I hate 35mm as well. I love 28, 40, and 50, but I can't get along with 35. However, my XA (presently in the shop) is the most pocketable camera I have, so it usually ends up that the bulk of my photos are at 35mm ;D

Love the infrared shots, Kevin.

Anyway, I shot these last weekend in Hastings, but only developed them this weekend.
Orca 110, Pentax Auto 110, 25 min stand development in 1:100 R09 from Firstcall, using a really nasty Yankee Clipper tank (which has already paid for itself now I've developed two films in it).

Very nice thread this week. Too many good photos to make a list of faves. I spent the day gum printing instead of developing, so here is one of the prints. Tri-color gum on Bienfang Graphics 360 using the same paper to make waxed paper negatives. Not perfect, but any time I get a recognizable image out of gum, I count it success.

Thanks everyone. Gum bichromate print Francois. I haven't heard of gum printing without a bichromate hardening agent. Yes, the bichromate is more toxic than I like to think about, but it isn't deadly, absorb through your skin toxic. Gloves and eye protection are wise with this process (as with any photographic chemistry). This is usually done on watercolor paper of some sort. I decided to try it on Bienfang marker paper. It is very thin, translucent paper. It held up perfectly well through 3 coatings and 3 washes. If you did enough layers to get the blacks opaque and the colors saturated, it would be very cool to display back-lit, almost like an autochrome.

You're right. You do need the bichromate in all the formulas. Thing is there is both Gum Bichromate and Gumoil prints which are both a slightly different process.

Hey folks. I know it's Monday but it's a holiday weekend here in the States, so I didn't have to work today and that means it's still the weekend! :D

I've been working on my backlog and haven't had time to do much with the images in terms of dust removal or tweaking, so here's just one that came out pretty much set right out of the scanner. Kansas City Convention Center from when I was doing the AP essay scoring there in June. The usual suspects (K1000, HP5, Caffenol.)

A late edition.     Recently came back from a week in Devon.  Weather Glorious, Kids tiring

I have heard a rumour that cameras take pictures of things other than Children.

All Pola 680 Slr, all new Impossible film.   I did drop off 10 rolls of film that I hope to have back soon, first time in a year or so!

I quite like the new IP stuff now.   It doesnt seem as sharp as the old Pola film and it works best in a not too bright / slightly overcast light.  It doesn't handle strong light very well at all I find  - like proper pola did.   You really do need the frog tongue thing, not necessarily the one they sell - but you need to be able to shield the print from light for the first few minutes  - and its also seems to get colour casts a bit randomly  - but overall it works for me!

I must say I like where Impossible is finally going. Over the last year or so, I've been seeing more and more images made with it and each time I'm impressed.
For those who tried both the early versions and the latest brew, just do a side by side comparison and I think you'll be even more impressed.
