Homeless persons photo contest

I assume these are film shots? Is there any such thing as a disposable digital camera? At any rate, that "London Calling" shot is amazing and I would have been proud to have taken that myself.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon a pop-up stand for "Café Art" at Spitalfileds Market last year and I bought the calendar produced from the photos the year before.  Very impressive.  I'll have to keep an eye out for the next one, having seen those photos.

There used to be disposable digitals a few years ago, but I've only read about them and how quickly people figured out how to recycle them. You used to have to bring them back to the drugstore to get your prints from them and they would keep the camera which got rewrapped and passed down to another customer.

Film is the vinyl record of photography.

All digitals are disposable at the point the next new and improved market iteration appears. At least the bodies

Agree 100% where some of the lower-end DSLRs are concerned but, much as film is my preferred medium, I really like my digi - particularly as it shares lenses with my M7.

All items are disposable in a capitalistic consumer market.

Do we have a chance against trillions of phone wiping dumb asses? Most of my friends in real live - and sometimes me myself - are like that. As I said somewhere else: I had a dream ....

It's just that I like to keep hope that the planet won't just end up as the biggest dump in the whole universe (or multimeter depending if science finds this concept to be true)

The fact that scientists / astronomers have been searching for other planets with atmospheres bearing some resemblance to ours strikes me as mankind looking for some other poor lump of rock we can abuse (assuming some other life form doesn't get there first or have the capacity to defend itself against our intentions.)
