Now, here's my guess about what's to come. They probably decided to scrap the line to produce some sort of pocket printer that's hooked-up to the telephone via blue tooth. Instant film would be competition in their own market.

I was thinking on the lines of an advance Instax Wide camera to replace the Instax Wide 300 that would be a hybrid.  Take a digital picture, keep it, print it on Instax Wide film.  It would allow web folks to post their pictures online AND have a print to share, give away, put in a scrapbook, etc.  Only thing is I can actually get a negative with the color FP-100c film that I cannot get with my Instax.
I was born with nothing and have manged to keep most of it.

Just as long as they at least save the assembly machines, I think we'll be OK.

Anyone have insight on the claims of cat labs?

Edit: sorry, didn't see some of your comments.
Welp, hope they are up for a challange :)

Wow. I keep FP-100C in my wish list on Amazon so I can quickly reorder. I haven't ordered any in a couple of years. Just peeked at my wish list and Amazon is selling it for $30 USD a pack. Ouch.

As Peter mentioned, that's kind of a reasonable price. It's about what IP charges for their integral film packs, and those only have 8 shots on them. All in all, I'd say $30 is probably what the market would sustain. It's also pretty much what FP3000B has cost for a while :D

True, I recently bought some from Gary's Camera at 27.00 with shipping for the 8 pieces.  $3.37 each.  One of the reasons I went with a Instax Wide camera at roughly .76 each.  You would think Fujifilm could make money at selling wholesale at a price that suggested retail would be $15.00 per pack of 10.

It's better than $75 for a pack of 5 for New 55 film.

Nothing really flower-foul-worthy here, just too many consecutive replies without a picture.

This lily is lamenting the loss of peel-apart film.

Me too!

I'd like to support them by buying other stuff in the meantime, but there's not much on there that I need or can afford  :P

Update from CatLABS: http://www.catlabs.info/we-will-make-packfilm

"One thing we can share, is that we have been actively discussing Packfilm for more then 6 months, as part of our connection with French film and paper maker Bergger, which is already utilizing cutting-edge technologies to make Pancro 400, the worlds newest BW film."

Should I just ignore the fact that the link to Bergger, as in "our connection with...", is dead? I mean, I'm trying to stay positive

Being ever resourceful, I googled Bergger and the film sounds interesting and the sample pics look great. Gonna have to get me some (available through Freestyle in the US)

They always sound quite sure, a recent reply to a comment on their Facebook page:
"Were on it. We do not have any news, updates or a timeline at this point - stay tuned for more updates to come soon, we will make packfilm."

I do hope so... even just a BW would be great... just bought a Polaroid 190, I want to believe! :D

Florian Kaps just did a bit of an update. No hard facts in his update, but I think if anyone outside of the big photo manufacturers can make headway producing pack film it would be Kaps.

On Facebook there are several PISSED at CatLABS.  I think if anyone picks up making peel apart it will probably be the Chinese.
I can still buy it fresh on Amazon.  Last 2 I got in expire in 2-2018.

And yet again, many words being posted, in addition to a couple of superlatives, but still no hard facts. I'm getting a little tired of being d***ed around  >:(

At least this time there's no mention of CatLABS.

In an interesting twist of events, CatLABS posted the following update from New55: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/892575418/new55-color-4x5-peelapart-film

Still one (or more) steps away from true packfilm, but at least it's from New55 who have at least delivered products in the past...
