I know we are only 7 weeks into 2016 but here is my favourite image of the year so far:

Although I fired off a couple of shots on Monday it's going to be ages before any recent stuff comes onstream.  But I've been catching up on some scanning - shots taken in 1998/99 while I was in Oman.  They don't really need any titles beyond Moon, Sun, and Sand, but they were all taken just off the south coast not far from the Yemeni border.

When I went there I had a Pentax ME Super and a P30T, so could have been either of those but at some point I replaced them with an MZ-5.

Kevin that's a fantastic image.

This one of my son is from last weekend.  I used my YashicaMat and Delta 3200

Sandeha's dunes and Kevin's waterfall are quite extraordinary. Nicely done.

Mine's just something from a recent walkabout. Leica IIIc, Summitar 50/2, HP5+ in Caffenol C-H(RS):

From a couple weekends ago. Only been shooting BW Polaroid so far this year because of dull winter light. Plan an shooting some color this weekend.

That opening shot and Sandeha's dunes are wonderful - and it's another strong week all round.

A bit of an eclectic selection from me this week: At the races was an afternoon / evening meet, New Year at the Chelmsford City course, Frosted glass was Hanbury Street, E1 (near Spitalfields) and Ridgeway is at Wayland Smithy.  All taken on Leica M7 with 28mm Elmarit-M and 50mm Summicron-M.

Kevin, that water shot is just stunning. I'm having trouble peeling my eyes off of it.

Irv, your clowns are both endearing and terrifying, especially #3. That hair is going to give me nightmares.

I have had mixed results with this film. This time I'm not displeased. It is labeled "Professional 125", so I am guessing FP4 Plus. Dev'd in Xtol 1+3 x 15min. Shot with my Chinon CP-5 + Summatech 28mm f/2.8 wide open.

I can't believe this is @6400. I'm only on my phone, but I zoomed in and the grain is very small and pleasing. So you dev'd in D76 1:1 for 1/2 hour? Makes me want to try HP5 @6400 and dev in HC110B for 1/2 hour.....

LA, didn't you try pushing HP5 at one point? Or maybe I did....

Unbelievable! Great shot but what the hell is anyone thinking about when it comes desecrating an ancient monument with that sort of vandalism?

Nice shots Reinhold.  Here's a grabshot I got using my Olympus XA / Fuji 400 at the packed Winery Dogs gig at the O2 Ritz in Manchester earlier this month:

Pretty bold shooting a gig at 400 (though that looks like a well-lit gig). I find I can't shoot gigs at less than 800, and more comfortably at 1600. And that's with a 1.8 lens!

I had the lens open at f2.8 and just held it as high over my head as I could get it.  The gig lighting was okay but not exactly blinding.  If anything, the lighting on the crowd was brighter! That said, I was there for the music.  Messrs Kotzen, Sheehan and Portnoy make a very nice sound..... 8)
