It's been a long time since I last posted (redundancy, dealing Ma's hospitalization, lethargy) but I'm finally getting my time and filmwasting passion back.

Yashica Electro GSN (I like it but it's not as practical as the Olympus 35RC; it's also got this stupid Archilles Heel that when a piece of foam is flat it stops working properly)

The Tenax I got was quite cheap and pretty beat up, but it came with the unobtanium 362/2 yellow filter. I have resisted the Robot (I'd prefer the Royal Robot in 24x24) and the Tenax II so far, but both are tempting.

Bonded:

Spotmatic. The best SLR for just getting out of your way ever, with every button and dial in the correct place.
Zenit E/B. Cheap and easy to relax around. If it gets broken, I can fix it! If it gets stolen, I am down the price of a cup of coffee!
Minolta 7000. If it only had a depth of field preview, it would be perfect. Easy to understand, which is more than you can say about every other autofocus SLR.
Rollei 35B. I can take a camera anywhere.

Didn't bond:
Olympus OM4: I spent a vast fortune on this when I didn't have any money and was basically a kid. It self destructed.
OM1: I always left the meter on.
Pentax MX: too small.
Canon EOS: all too complex. Depth mode. Eh?
Nikon: too clunky
Leica: I have always been worried about breaking any Leica I have owned, so I always got rid.

TL;DR: My Pentax Spotmatic could easily be the only camera I use for the rest of my life. In terms of results, it loses nothing to a Leica, and costs about ⅛ of the price even with eBay encouraging people to butcher them.

Minolta Prod (no, really - that's its name) - bought it for its looks and that's about it. Still a looker to me, but not really a user. Having said that, I may take it for a spin this weekend and try and bond with it. Perhaps it's like its looks - just a troublesome teenager.

I'm lately smitten with the Industar 50-2
3.5 50 mm
I do have the Helios and like it too (I think they were native for the Zenits) , but the Industar is very small and handy to have. It almost looks like a toy lens, it's got that insignificant look that only those in the know would consider.
I have a film drying in the bathroom to share later from an early morning outing.

Check out the lens though. It's quite sweet.. I had to wait over a month for mine to arrive from over yonder Ukraine way.

Mamiya RZ67 Pro II. The mirror thwack is just so satisfying.
Fuji X-E1, especially with a 56mm f/1.2 on there. I don't care if it's a crop sensor, these are the sharpest results I've ever gotten from a digital camera, and it's still light enough to travel with.
Nikon D700. I didn't bond with it until sea spray got on the sensor and I got it repaired mainly because I hate the idea of a camera going to the landfill.

On-again off-again relationship:
Nikon D800. Wonderful for food and product photography, but it's more of a workhorse than a personality. The Hufflepuff of cameras.

Just arrived:
An Intrepid 4x5 MK3. We'll see how it goes!

Bonded with a very cute half frame Fujica mini in black. It's a looker (to my eyes) and a keeper. The meter even works. Been wanting a half frame for a while.

This is one of the threads that I go back to from time to time just to see who likes what camera and possibly why.

My recent bonds have changed....
I'm still in love with my K1000, but recently have a strong attraction to my RB67.
The Holga is still a true love and a Vivitar Wide and Slim is almost always tucked in a side pocket in my truck.

Also, for recent road trips I've been taking disposables again. I like the freedom they allow.

Dial in the green marks on the aperture and distance, and the Contax T is a real street machine. It's dead quiet and so small you can have it in your pocket even if you have another camera slung over your shoulder. Perfect!

The f/8 green dot thing for some reason hasn't worked consistently for me. Maybe because I generally like close focusing, so an "everything from 6ft to infinity in focus" doesn't give me that experience. But whatever, it's super ergonomic for me, focusing is easy and the rangefinder patch is bright, I just screwed up and let it take a huge spill, after which the film counter stopped working

Everything else seems fine, apart from a badly dented top left corner and dangerously loose top plate ... looks like there's the possibility of light leaks but I haven't seen any yet...

Ouch indeed! The counter problem could just be a loose connector (or worse). You should definitely try to dismantle the top and try to straighten it out enough to fit securely. At the same time you could check out the counter connection in case there is something that can be done about it.
At least now we know why you keep pestering Hookstrapped to give up his T.
