Wow, what a cool thread. Would it be completely out of line if I resurrected this thread? It's so nice (and historical for that matter).
I'm begging you, please stop talking about square format 35mm cameras. I'm just starting to successfully thin my accumulation of cameras (somewhere between a collection and a pile), and the renewed temptation of a Robot or a Tenax might be too much to bear. I can't go off the wagon this soon.
There's strong evidence in a recent thread that you fell for the Tenax.
Did you resist getting the Robot?
Here's my list:
Bonded:Canon F- (my trusty workhorse; the best camera I own (at least in my eyes))
Canon A-1 (the "little brother" of my F-1)
Lipca Rollop I
Olympus 35RC (the nicest compact rangefinder I own; reliable and with an excellent lens)
Zeiss Ikon Tenax (I take it if you don't want to waste film)
Agfa Synchro Frankenbox (the loveliest box I've seen so far; I'm a little biased
)
Yashica T3 (RIP; dropped it & it died)
Not bonded:Any Minox 35
Any Zeiss Ikon Box-Tengor (I don't know why, they simply don't seem to give me results like I get with the Agfa Box)
Canon AE-1 Program (it's not an A-1 and absolutely not an F-1)
Undecided:Yashica Electro GSN (I like it but it's not as practical as the Olympus 35RC; it's also got this stupid Archilles Heel that when a piece of foam is flat it stops working properly)
Rollei 35
Leica Z2X (nice camera but too... modern)
