I'm just wondering if it's just on my end (probably too many hops to do) but the access to the site has been iffy at best for the last 24 hours?

To read an article or access a board I usually have to reload the page at least once... and access is b***** slow

Yep, it's been really bad. I couldn't get in at all for 24 hours from yesterday afternoon, and now every page takes two or three reload attempts before it comes up.

It's been like this for more than 24 hours and it's just getting worse. It took me more than five attempts to get logged in.

Bad from this side of the water as well. Host seems to be in Hungary (Bluehost). Not sure where server is.

A trace finishes at box65.bluehost.com which, if you try and access it says no website exists and a DNS lookup says no DNS exists for filmwasters.com.

Something not right somewhere.

Ed's the admin for the domain.

I use Bluehost for my personal websites ( http://www.indofunksatish.com , http://www.indofunkstudios.com , http://thenevermindorchestra.com , etc) and they're fine. box65 is probably the shared server that Filmwasters resides on, so obviously no website will exist for it. I'm thinking that DNS lookup just times out, which is exactly what we see when we have to refresh a few times before getting it to appear in a browser.

Nothing that a good ol' fashioned reboot wouldn't fix

Good news, I got in touch with Ed and he's been working on it for the last few days.
Bad news, nobody seems to be able to find anything wrong with it, not even the utilities. He's going back to bluehost trying to see what can be done.

Too bad this has to break down at this time of the year... why don't things ever break on the 29th of February?

The last couple days it's been super slow, you have to refresh the page a couple times to load it.

Really sorry about these issues we've been having with the site over the last few days; it's infuriating isn't it!? Bluehost claim there's nothing wrong with the server that we're hosted on, but I can't really see how it can be anything else. Leon was possibly going to get in touch with them again today (I was in touch with them yesterday), so I'll catch up with him and see if he got anywhere. We may be able to request that they move the site to another server if they still can't find any issues...and if we still keep having the current slow response.

In better news, I just sat through the whole Satish's "Introduction to the Firebird" YouTUbe series....so this Bluehost issue has at least inadvertently enriched and informed my life.

Please have them reboot the VM that filmwasters.com is on, please. They should at least restart DNS and maybe Apache too. That's like 30ms of downtime, max (unless there's a real problem with the server, in which case they need to fix it!). Have them check on any other websites on the same VM or server (I bet it's the VM and not the server though).

We fell in love with them when we met a man with two whippets on a parking place in Scotland!

By the way: still having great problems to login!

PS: That´s what I mostly see:

500 Server Error
A misconfiguration on the server caused a hiccup. Check the server logs, fix the problem, then try again.

Don't worry about posting, once you get there it usually works enough not to loose a post... though you sometimes have to hit the resend button a few times.

As for the 500 error, this is problematic in a way since it's just a generic code that doesn't mean much... a type of catch all bag for everything the programmers didn't feel like coding in.

Finally got logged in for the first time since last Friday. Seems like the server's back to normal. I tried from my iPhone, via works connection - all sorts but it just kept crashing and pumping out an internal server issue message.

Really glad to have FW back online.
