I have what I call a "selfie cable". Other people ("newbies" maybe) might call it a 6' cable release....

I would be nervous attaching my 4x5 to a piece of wood like that. I love the idea though. I could just extend my tripod legs and hold on to the bottom ends. That would be heavy though.  :o

I have an old-school threaded self-timer that I bet would work on my 6x9 (a.k.a. Pocket Graphic).

And then after you develop and print it, you post it on large format facebook (LFFB)! I.e., you paste it into a book and go visit all of your friends and put it in their faces :)
