All registered Filmwasters are cordially invited to participate in Collaboration Number 37.

---------------------------------------------------
Theme: "Give Us Your Best Shot - 2014"
---------------------------------------------------

We've run this for a couple of years now and it's gone down really well, so we thought we'd keep the tradition alive.

Send us the photo - taken in 2014 - of which you're proudest; the one where everything worked out just right (whether by design, or otherwise!), the one that makes you smile. Remember to please include a sentence or two about why you chose this particular photo.

Unless you're incredibly indecisive - or haven't taken a decent photo in 12 months - it's hard to see why you wouldn't want to get involved in this collaboration, so let's give 2014 a memorable photographic send off with a fantastic gallery of photos!

There is no 'time served' rule with these collaborations so don't worry if you only registered with us a week ago. Conversely, if you registered 6 years ago, but haven't visited the site site for the last 5, that doesn't matter either. Join in. The work we receive is always diverse and high-quality and the more people that get involved, the better the resulting gallery will be.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Submission Deadline: Sunday, 11th January 2015
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basic requirements:

JPEG Requirements: One JPEG image. Not larger than 800 pixels in length or width.

PLEASE use ONLY your name in the image file (e.g. "Simone Northfolk.jpg")

**ALSO INCLUDE**

1. A sentence or two about why you chose this particular photo.
2. The camera, process and/or type of film used.
4. Your website or blog address that you'd like listed.

EMAIL SUBMISSIONS to filmwasters [at] gmail.com (please write "Best Shot 2014" in the subject field so we can find them easily in our overflowing mail box).

Regards,
The Filmwasters Team

Apologies for the shorter lead time than usual, but it's not like you're going to be shooting something just for the collaboration, is it?!
 ;)

Despite what it says in the blurb above I'm trying hard to think of a single decent shot I took in 2014, but then my output went from 'very little' in 2013 to 'almost non-existent' this year, so it's not surprising that I don't have much to choose from. I suspect that's not going to be a problem many of you face.

Bring it on!!
 :) :)

I know which shot I want to use, but its back from when I still used to watermark my images. I hope I can find the original and re-export it sans watermark.

So does that mean we're going to get to see your mug on Polaroid ;)
There's still a few hours left...

Mine's sent. Relatively easy choice.  Most have been crap but this one I enjoy looking at.

Mine's in too. And I made a nice scan just for it!
I must admit that I didn't have hundreds to choose from either. But I think the one I sent is pretty darn good.

Every year, all I can think of when I see this thread title is the Pat Benatar song ;D

Hope you can do better than the video that came out with the song ;)

Hmm, coincidentally, the shot I'm thinking of using does have more in common with that video than most of the other contributions will, I'd wager ;)

I found it! There was a brief period of a few months where I hadn't gotten around to backing up my photos and then the hard drive that the photos were on crashed, so I was afraid I'd lost this particular image, but luckily that hard drive crash apparently happened right after I'd backed up this image :) Not that it's a HUGE deal, I mean, we all save our negs, right? But my neg filing system is far worse than my digital filing system so I have my doubts about whether I'd find it at all :)

I had a few images in mind, but then I came across one that I'd actually forgotten about. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one I wanted to submit.

Keep 'em coming everyone. Looking to get the gallery together tomorrow (Sunday evening).
