Film in the Mainstream.

Seems some film still has what it takes to mix it with the digerati... Petrolicious - a moderately famous automotive journal - was happy to publish a filmy set of XP2 Super (GR-1) and Ektar (Bronica) from a recent excursion:

More here, with some idle words too, if you're automotively inclined: http://www.petrolicious.com/jdm-legends-tour-touge-near-fuji-san. Skj.

Fundamentally there is nothing wrong with film photography. And it looks much more natural. :D

Well these days, at least in North America, if you have a panda ae86 trueno you will get coverage because of initial d.

I also find that auto shots really can appreciate film as an aesthetic. Most good car photographers use expensive lenses to achieve the selective focus and perspective they want. Which is easily achieved by medium format. Not to mention that the tonality and resolution will far surpass the digital counterpart.

Ya tintin you are right about all that. Plus I think metal (in all its glorious forms) just looks awesome on film. It could just be dynamic range, or maybe metal just likes being recorded in silver ;-)
