Filmwasters: Collaboration #34 - "Digital"‏
« on: January 21, 2014, 10:48:19 AM »
All registered Filmwasters are cordially invited to participate in Collaboration Number 34.

---------------------------------------------------
Theme: "Digital"
---------------------------------------------------

It's time to put together the first Filmwasters.com collaboration gallery of 2014. This time the theme is "Digital". Interpret it how you like; just make sure you shoot it on film (or paper, or glass, or tin) and include a sentence or two about how your photo relates to the theme. On a personal note, it would be great to get at least a few submissions which do not relate to the subject digital photography :-)

There is no 'time served' rule with these collaborations so don't worry if you only just registered with Filmwasters. Conversely, if you registered 457 years ago, but haven't visited the site site for the last decade, that doesn't matter either. Join in. The work we receive is always diverse and high-quality and the more people that get involved, the better the resulting gallery will be.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Submission Deadline: Ed's bedtime on Sunday, 16th February 2014
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basic requirements:

JPEG Requirements: One JPEG image. Not larger than 800 pixels in length or width. No more than 200kb.

PLEASE use ONLY your name in the image file (e.g. "Dr Walter Bishop.jpg")

**ALSO INCLUDE**

1. A sentence or two about why you chose this particular photo.
2. The camera, process and/or type of film used.
4. Your website or blog address that you'd like listed.

EMAIL SUBMISSIONS to filmwasters [at] gmail.com (please write "Digital" in the subject field so we can find them easily in our overflowing mail box).

Regards,
The Filmwasters Team

I'm going to take a guess that Leon had no hand in choosing this theme. HA!

The funny thing about this is that it will force me to finish a project that's lying on my desk!
I think I will need some canned air to dust it off  :-\

Funny thing is, I told my mom about the theme this morning... but I guess she was just half listening.
While preparing dinner she told me: "That's a stupid idea for a collaboration. Where are you going to get vegetables this time of the year?"

Took me a while to figure this one out  ;D

Well... she wasn't listening (obviously) and heard that the theme was "vegetable" and not "digital".
Their ending sounded the same in her ear for some reason...  :-\

I think I'm going to take a tape and write vegetable on her digicam  ;D

Load film in your digital camera. Now that'll be a first :)

Easy, cut a small piece of film (ca one frame), take the lens off the digital camera, lock up the mirror (if it is a DSLR), put a drop of super glue on the sensor, put the piece of film on the drop of super glue, and your done...  ;) - makes a super cool single frame disposable camera.

Great stuff, everyone. I've just been through the FW mailbox and there is a healthy stash of collaborative material :-) I even have one myself - although not a recent one. Just got the kids to bed and now have to navigate dinner and the final 2 episodes of Arrow (Season 1) and I'll be ready to get it online.

Last minute submissions more than welcome. You have about 3 hours....

Heck no. "Digital" pays my mortgage and records my music. I do love analogue/old school etc. in a lot of things, but I'm a total digital tech geek outside of photography.

Balls!! Sorry everybody. I have been loitering in a different timeline/Universe and came back a week earlier than I thought. Ignore the  post about putting the gallery up tonight. That was clearly wrong. I need to head back to the alternate Universe and kick my Tech guy for outfitting me with faulty equipment. Let's hope that this time I come back on the correct date....
