Which Country Do Filmwasters Come From?

We've only just recently turned on stats for the Filmwasters web empire (cough!
), so not much to display for now, but the first interesting thing I found was this country breakdown for June 2007.
One note: where the heck is the European Union (as opposed to Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain etc.).

I doubt it - Yugoslavia doesn't exist anymore, and only the part now known as Slovenia is an EU member state. Albania isn't part of the EU either.
Maybe it refers to the EU member states minus the major countries like the UK, Germany, etc... but I don't know why they'd make such a distinction, and otherwise I can't understand that breakdown at all.

Yakutsk !!!!!!!!!!
Yes that's right! As the average temperature in this part of the old Soviet Union is a bone chilling - 49c (on a good day)
and hence impossible for silver emulsion to react to light and processing of film even more impossible.
Therefore if you put a roll of 120 in your trusted Rollicord or Flex, in that part of the world you would be a filmwaster !!! Get it?

just take it cool
though an interesting topic. does film actually stop reacting to light at certain temperatures? if it's winding and breaking the film that is the problem then sheet film, paper or glass negatives should be better. right?
also, welcome to the forum mr. green

I had never thought that temperature would be a problem in this way. Interesting.

That's pretty strange... but it is cryogenic temperatures.
What I find a bit strange about emulsion not reacting properly at this temperature is a bit based on the fact that the Soviets were the first to capture images from the dark side of the moon using a satellite. The way it worked is that the image was captured on film, developed and photographed using a TV camera to broadcast back down to earth. In the moon's shadow, temperatures drop down to around -150°C, so they would have needed a heater... just thinking out loud here.
Anyways, welcome fellow northerner!

my only temperature issue has been with polaroid ie too hot say plus 35.c or too cold say below 4.c ! so its down trousers to keep the cold film warm and shade for the hot film !
