Its the weekend - 22nd - 24th November 2014
« on: November 22, 2013, 01:36:22 PM »
Let's start the weekend with a photo of Scots Pine trees, taken appropriately enough in Scotland - Glen Affric  to be precise.

Taken last week with a Mamiya RZ67, and Velvia 50 home developed in Tetenal E6 chemicals

A very nice start you two! My contribution is a recent shot of my wife and our 8 month old son. Taken with an Olympus mju-II on Kentmere 400.

In all honesty, I must say that I don't think I've ever seen a stronger opening set of postings on a weekend thread. Those are just wonderful.  My feeble attempt is from last weekend's FW jaunt to Burnham Beeches near the picturesque fishing village of Slough  ;D

LD that is beautiful, but of course with a Rolleiflex nothing less is expected...  ;D
Dave, as usual, all finesse...
Hafner, little Hafner is growing steadily...  :)

Two shots from couple of weeks ago, a nearby town fair, little Alma had its first exhibition, you can imagine... she was the most beautiful, gracious, brave... the people in the other shot are ¨castellers¨ they form human towers. We helped at the base (just in case people fall..) as there was not enough people around  ::)

Yes Carlos, he's growing really fast. Only 8 months old and he's doing nothing all day but stand up. Another month or two and he'll walk.

Paul, that's a great shot. I guess you're going to keep the Rolleiflex then ;)

Eugene, great mood with the old Kodak.

It has some advantages to forget exposed films and find and develop them later. So here's another reminiscence of the summer. Kodak Technical Pan developed in Caffenol-C-L. Probably shot with Minolta X-300 and 28mm Rokkor.

Dave's shot is outstanding, jharr's acros is great! love the glow. and Terry, great color. Love the look portra can give, even if is the old stuff.

I have one shot from today. I was trying Tmax-400 pushed to 1600 in rodinal 90min semi stand. Not sure if I like the unpredictable results but This shot turned out nice I thought. Not 100% on the composition but I thought I'd try something new.

Well, let's see. You have Rule of Thirds, Subject isolation with shallow DOF, Converging Lines, Repetition, and good contrast. That's at least a 5 element composition. I think you nailed it. I like it a lot.

It is funny, I look at stuff like Dave's and I think "I really gravitate to the natural environment images and then I see work like Tintin's and I flip around. I just love the diversity of the stuff that gets in here and how my brain flips back and forth or subject matter/composition styles/etc that I can feel and relate to.

Anyhow, it feels like winter in Ontario now (which I am excited about) but last week it was still feeling like fall...
