Fuji NHG II 800
« on: October 18, 2013, 12:28:13 PM »
Someone has just given me a whole bunch of expired film (mostly B&W) and amongst them is an unopened roll of Fuji NHG II 800 which has an expiry date of 2002-12. I have been told that it has been stored in the fridge since bought.

Doing a bit of googling I found out that it is a high speed Superia that was discontinued just about the time this was made. My question is what shall I rate it at 400 or 200?

200. I shot some of this at 800 and was gravely disappointed

High speed films degrade faster than regular emulsions. So expect some brown muddy grainy tones unless you overexpose. Exposing at 400 should be enough, though exposing at 200 would give a guarantee the results are going to be better. Negative film likes to be overexposed anyway.

Film is the vinyl record of photography.
