What a diverse set! Color. Focus. Blur. Definition. Simple. Complex. Uncommented. Detailed. Hours of viewing pleasure...

Great collection, thanks to Susan for the collation work, and of course the contributors.

thanks once again for keeping us all in line and getting the gallery together susan.  some nice pics in there this time (as for everyother time) most notable for me is the interpretation in Becky Ramotowski's spirit level and  the abstract nature of Karl Chapman's faux lith-type picture  - both  excellent.

another great gallery. i always look forward to seeing how people have interpreted a theme and what cameras etc they've used.  i realize i forgot the title on mine("outside, your darkest desires manifest" in case anyone was curious).

Hey All--

Just added a late pic from Damion who has been traveling this week.
Hilarious stuff from Mr. Rice, as usual.

Guys, it's a genuine thrill to see how everyone interprets the theme. I thought this time round the submissions are really strong. I love the cyanotype because I'm very interested in enlarged negatives and alt processes at the moment (the photo's pretty schweet too ;D), but Aline's is the one that really grabbed me first time round. Something about it.....Yummy!

Thanks Karl, much appreciated. Ironically, my image in the collab is a complete mongrel using almost none of the components that I usually employ, so I'm really pleased you like it.

  • The film was accidentally exposed to the bright Morrocan sun which is why the edges are bleached out so fetchingly.
  • My computer, scanner etc. are all over the house at the mo, so I had to work from a very low res contact sheet scan I did 2 months ago using scanning software that I'd never used before.
  • When I came to edit the image last night before mailing it to Susan, I found that Photoshop wouldn't work properly, so I had to crop, re-size and adjust levels in some more-basic-than-basic Microsoft application and couldn't grayscale it either which is where the weird blue tones come from.

This new method of working is obviously the way forward  :D

Thanks to Susan for all the hard work (as usual).

A wonderful collection as always and so diverse. I was particularly attracted to the voyeuristic qualities of Skorj's Polaroid. That's not to say I wander the streets of Bath peeping but having said that I have a little time on my hands at the moment  ;)

You get the theme,  spend ages thinking about it, panic near the deadline if you haven't come up with anything decent. Finally  when you see the gallery of images  you  see so many simple ideas interpreted beautifully and creatively that  you think "why did i not think of that".    Great images, great variety and creativity.

Couldn't agree more. It's very easy to over-complicate things, and far more difficult to express an idea clearly and competently.

An excellent selection of work. As always, it's both inspired and inspiring.

Wonderful work everyone!! I'm really sorry I missed it!!

I especially enjoyed Karl Chapman's image, which I found to be very intruiging, evocative and reflective in many ways. Karl I wish I'd taken that image. :) Also Skorj's image was soft and painterly beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyable.
