The curious feeling of postcards...
« on: May 26, 2007, 11:47:22 AM »
... at all times (to the point of obsession I am told), I try to avoid cliches and the need to shoot postcards. Fields of tulips, London Bridge, Harbour Bridge, Fuji-san. But how can you not photograph something so magnificent as this though, even if it has been photographed a million times previously - on the same day? I want to see Leon shoot Mt. Fuji:

Yah... you can stand here for hours and watch the mists and clouds run over Fuji-san and never be bored. Car loads set up their tripods and wait all day to shoot one frame. Their tripods line the roads and paths securing a spot to place their camera, and depending on the day the photographer will return to a place for a photograph they are waiting for.

This day had the digital point and shoots confabulated as with the sun on the snow tipped peak and the rest of the scene in normal light this was over three stops faster than expected.
