They Can't See Us In China

We all know about how the Chinese government hides a significant amount of Internet content from their populace? Well, Filmwasters is right up there with the rest of the subversive websites. See image below.

Just think of all the quality images they're missing out on....unless the whole thing's a scam set up by digital camera manufacturers. No film sites allowed through.

Well, to be fair, you can't move on this site for capitalist running dog groupthink.

(My site is blocked too.)

Like all about the mainland seeing is believing. Misinformation is more common than information. No doubt the firewall issue is true - the in-country ping process looks OK - but it serves others to propagate misinformation, as it does for the PRC govt to do the same. Until the revolution comes, we'll never know. Heck, I miss the place though sometimes...

Yeah, both my sites (outofcontxt.com and billvaccaro.com) are blocked as well. I never knew I was that subversive! ;-)

If anything here was true, this be it! Unless of course, you're connected.

If the page is accurate it could well be that the firewall is set to allow specific sites rather than block specific sites. (i.e. Sites are blocked by default unless specifically allowed)

That's the way I did it when I ran an oppressive dictatorship...

well, just because officially they can't see certain sites doesn't mean there's not a work around.  i believe anything on blogger was blocked in the past(and probably still is), but there were ways to see the content. there was some site that helped you do it or maybe some sort of program. but that's all i can remember about it.

a lot of blocked pages can be viewed through a google search. that's how i look at ebay and video game sites during downtime at work.

Of course, it does say on that site that there may be technical issues why our urls are blocked, as opposed to any real eeeevil dictatorship reasons  :)

Flickr images have been blocked for a while now:
