Mauricio: If I was going to take a photo of a pile of books, I'd like it to look like yours.

Thank you Ed... I recommend reading the one on the top of the pile ;)

still life, huh? I've got ideas kicking around the head and I'd like to take things closer to what I shoot. I'll take this as a kick in the buttocks to get into it! ;)

good of you lean, starting this thread. and for all the right reasons!

ed, many personal favourites from you there! the lightbulb stands out to me as extra inspiring~

now, from me... two old shots from a continuing series.

Why won't people ever learn...
Lets just relish the beauty of the images, not the stuff used to take them.

Leon, shame you can't enjoy it anymore. I'm just sipping an angostura 1919.  Hopefully you'll be able to have one at some point soon. I'll buy you one if you are ever in Cornwall.

What a great thread.
These images were part my attempt to do a second consecutive 365 .I have let it go now. They were also to see if a flash that my dad gave me in 1981 still worked.

Mauricio,I have been trying to read the Simon Reynolds book for a couple of years now.I have given my previous 2 copies as presents.3rd time lucky!

I like the way almost every thread can leap off at a tangent. I saw the rum photo and thought, "Mmmmm. Posh rum!".
Nice.
Matt, we're coming back to Cornwall in the summer for a week.....maybe we should meet on a beach somewhere and share a bottle of your finest rum? Don't worry though, I'll contribute too. I'll bring the glasses and irritating children  8) ;) ;D

Charles: these are really quite beautiful.....fantastic even. Composition, light, colours; all spot on. I want to hug them all.

Ed - sounds awesome! :)

by that point I should have a screaming roughly 3 week old to add to the day!

but yes shout when you are down here and will say hello and drink some rum if possible...

Some great photography in this thread. I'm particularly struck by some of the shots of singular objects.
