How good can a ZLR be?
« on: June 03, 2013, 07:47:54 PM »
I've been lately shooting with my Olympus IS-1000 almost exclusively.Why wouldn't I?
The camera has many plus points and almost no minus ones : excellent grip, great lens
and a  bunch of shooting modes - I shoot in aperture priority most of the times. The
only minus would be the inability to change lenses, but range from 35mm-135mm covers
the most used range. How good the lens is? For my eyes it's more than decent.

Here are some shots I took using Fomapan 200.

Linux is like a wigwam. No windows, no gates, apache inside!

Brilliant B&W pictures!
Don't know the camera or the film, but you are doing a great job with the processing.

You'd laugh your a.s off If you knew what software I use. I haven't got no Photoshop,
no Lightroom and no Silver Efex Pro. I do have a copy of Photoshop Elements 8 that
came with my scanner, but I don't use it. All the software I use is a little program called
Faststone Viewer and occasionally Gimp. In this case, I have configured levels, contrast,
lighting and used Sepia filter with saturation reduced to 50%.   :)

Here is an image from the 6 years younger camera(Olympus IS-100S), which is
quite good, but not nearly as good as the older sister.
