Getting closer!

I have a few color rolls to pick up on Monday and at least two monochrome to soup (maybe today). Then about a week of waffling, then about a week of last-ditch shooting, then a weekend of waffling, selection, and off to the postcard printer. :)

You can use a standard 1 hour lab and mount the prints on cardboard. That's what I do and it works fine.

It's in!
Just have to find a good picture and move them out.

I hope everybody will put stamps on the cards. It's much nicer than the usual postal sticker...

oh you guys are too organised! I will make a start printing this weekend, now one thing, I see some peeps want to have the stamp on the card, so if I put them in an envelope to protect the print am I breaking a written or unwritten rule of postcard swaps?

Sorry a newbie to this.

I think so. I always like a postcard to be sent "through the mail" and not protected in any way.
A postcard is just that, a piece of cardboard with a picture on one side and an destination address, a stamp and hopefully some text on the back.

All the traces left by the postal service are part of the appeal. Over the last two exchanges, I've had only one card that came looking like it had gone through a cheese grater.

LeonY: Mine arrived today - thank you. Yours is the first to arrive & all the way from Oz (I'm in the UK). I like the old Agfa postcard stock - it's a really nice colour.

Off to Barcelona for the day next week on business and I'll take my Pola postcards then.

zapsnaps: Really? Wow Oz Post works...sometimes.Its usually an abysmal carrier! That paper is pretty fogged, but it looks so good, and its specifically designed as a postcard, so i couldn't wait to use it for this exchange! Enjoy!

Bad news, folks, went to the darkroom a while ago to print the cards, discovered that one of the lamps in my enlarger blew up.. Will have to order one.. Or send out some contact prints - those can be done with a table lap. :)

The first card sent to me has arrived! :D

Thank you Leon Yuhanov!

A great Delhi street scene shot on Fuji Neopan 400 with a Fuji GS645, with a cute Kookaburra stamp!

My selection is sorted, I just need to get them printed and interesting stamps and they'll be off at the weekend.

OK, I did find that spray glue. Now, I just need to get my fingers unstuck... I feel like Clark Griswold when he was trying to get rid of those blown-in leaflets we find in magazines...

Cards will probably be in the mail tomorrow.

Recieved a wonderful postcard from Leon :) Mine will probably be mid/late June. I finished exams yesterday, so I have a bit more time, but if I wait until I go back to college next wednesday I can use their darkroom, so possibly do proper prints!

I still have a bunch of materials from the last exchange. I'm using up the last of the paper since they already been cut to size from the original 18 x 24inch (45x61cm) sheet. Also used some of the slightly bad cut reject paper I didnt use last year. I'm just too cheap and lazy. :D

EDIT: used a few different photos, so not all will be the same.

Good news is I have picked up a spare lamp for my enlarger.

Worse news is that no postcard arrived yet here.. I just hope they didn't end somewhere in the floods...

How'd you do the title part on an image like that?

that was the only part that was computer aided because I wanted the 'official logo' but can be done 100% analog without a computer with similar techniques using letraset.

Xerographics! stolen logo! photoshop rest of text, use old fuse type laser printer, printed backwards. cut each title from paper, heat titles (toaster ovens are great for this) sandwich on top of card to transfer toner.  cyanotype process, develop, wash, dry. heat card use more paper lift toner.

but I think maybe easy way is maybe computer print on transparency overlay and use over the exposure process, which I have also done.
I was previously in the extinct wet print industry, prepping negatives and bits of plate making.

I was thinking maybe you took a photo of a print out if the title and then put that negative over your print negative.....
