Tried Shanghai GP3 today in my garden. Developed it in D76 and
I don't like tonality and it's curly as hell. Won't try it again.

A couple more from Dungeness.

Hassy with Portra 400 (which I want to like, but I find it tends to over saturation).

Francois has, apparently, met my Aunt Betsy.  I finally loaded up a roll of Ilford Delta 3200 (rated at 1600 per a recommendation I think I recall from this august group) and ventured out into the big smoke for some sneaky candid shooting.  I developed these in HC-110 B; I think I like the grain, but maybe another developer gives a tighter grain structure...?

Terry - I think the results look good for iso1600, I've never tried Delta 3200 but it looks better than I got from Neopan 1600. I like the first one in particular.

Thanks for the encouragement--maybe I'll try a roll in rodinal and compare.  What I love about it is being able to shoot in the dead of night at 1/50 and f/5.6!

Ok - so continuing with the Delta 3200 theme at the end of the weekend here. I shot a roll last week at EI 3200 and developed it in D76 stock (all I had). Overall I feel they were underexposed. I got a few usable images. Next time I'll probably rate it at 1600 and do more research on a good developer. I'll be interested to hear what Terry does next.

I haven't shot 35mm in probably 15 years. This was only my second roll with a new-to-me Canonet QL17 GIII.

Egglestone, fffiiiuuuu... that is serious, and not easy to achieve, even to emulate, I have tried myself with poor results, I would say colors is one part of the show but I dare to say is more about the seemingly careless composition... just saying.
It seems the Gent in the third picture is wearing a red Khroma (scarf from Cambodia), I am myself a fan of those  ;D

Hi all,

First post, so go gentle on me.  :)

I'm learning my 5x4 trade with paper negs, still trying to get to grips with it but I'm getting closer. This is one of a couple of test images I did at the weekend.

DonkeyDave,

I am a sucker for contrasty B&W images with lots of texture.  Leon's hut is my favorite type of image.

Nice work all...

Poliweb--I like what you got there.  I should shoot some frames with more tonal variety; I got carried away with the dark-city-street mood I guess.

Terry - Thanks! It's tough - these scenes are by their nature very high contrast. I agree that it's fun just to get out there and make images. I got many frames that were a few blotches of light in a sea of dark!

Two of the three I posted were looking into store windows at night - here's another one at our local pizza parlor.
