I wish it was already weekend. For one thing - more time to spend in the darkroom. Something from last weekend:

Lovely shots Andrej as always, the light in the first is particularly nice.

Some more shots from Dungeness filmwasters day, taken early on before I met up with everyone, all FP4 with the 'Hof

Fantastic images everybody! My fave so far is JPC and his 10p Holga, a charming second shot.

Two shots of the little monkey  ;D with the Canon A1 and Kodak Gold 200.

Wow - what a delight. Vicky, that shot of Corfe Castle is just magical - reminds me of my dad's photos when I was a kid. Dave, those shots from Dungeness are gorgeous and TinTin's 3rd shot is like something from a 1950s car brochure. Lovely stuff all round.

Mine are from Dungeness - just before and right at sunrise. Hasselblad 500c/m with 80mm and 120mm CF T* lenses - but using up a spare roll of Kodak Tri-X this time instead of my usual XP2 Super.

Anyone know what the purpose of this structures is?

Hi gang. It's nice to be involved in a weekend thread for the first time in several weeks. Being a huge fan of 'monkey' shots myself, I have to say that Carlos's photos really hit home. They're gorgeous (and so is she)....it almost makes me want to have my own very young child again so I can take pictures like this (I said 'almost'!!)  ;D ;D I really like JPC's tree photo too. Donkey Dave's knocking it out of the park as usual....some lovely snow photos from Andrej and Francois. I'm not one for car snaps usually, but TinTin could change that with more photos like this! Oh and Brian's second photo of the girl on the bed, is great too.

....see I don't usually pick people out because I generally enjoy all of the work in these threads (and this week is no exception), but I haven't been as present and correct here in the last couple of weeks as I should have been so I'm over compensating  :-[ :P

ANYWAY, I took the Bronica out for a spin last weekend and came home with 8 exposures in a row which laughed in the face of expired chemicals and actually produced an image on the paper. With my current stash of 125i the more common success rate has dwindled to something more like 2 out of 3, so 8 successes in a row was a real joy :)  Yes people, after 13 years of serious photo enthusiasm I'm back to the "did an image actually come out?" stage of my career....if nothing else, it makes me feel young again  ;) Here are the first 2 that I managed to scan. Neither is particularly amazing, but I'm just relieved to have found time to press 'Go' a few times and make some pretty images.

Great to have you back Ed!

Fluminian: Sadly, no rollei for me. I wanted to try and pull off that Kenna feeling. Not having a 'blad, I settled for the closest thing: Yashicamat.
It's the closest lens quality wise that I have to the famous Swedish brand.

For those who want some technical details, it's shot on Delta100 which I metered at EI 50 because of all that white snow. I know my meter would have gone cuckoo and underexposed everything. I wanted the snow to be white, not gray. Developed in HC-110 Dil. B. Negatives are a bit contrasty and quite dense, which I expected since there is so much white in the scene. But on the upside, they print very well on grade 2 as there is a lot of detail on all that is not snow.

Thanks for your kind words.. I rejoice about the prints and will be dry mounting them hopefully tomorrow, but since many of my favorite achievements in the darkroom are on Efke Varycon paper which is now gone for good, it is always a bit sad to me..

Anyway, I see some great work this weekend again here.. I particularly enjoy JPC's Holga  and Paul's "tall things" in Dungennes. And calbisu's pictures of that cute little "monkey" which reminds me that I REALLY SHOULD take more pictures of our little ones (for which, I think, I should't have sold all my 35mm cameras - it's rather difficult to hunt them with a MF SLR...)

Yes, I always have a 35mm camera loaded and nearby so I can hunt her around, with the Rolleiflex is almost mission impossible, with the Pentax 67 is doable but not the perfect machina for casual shots. Loving that second shot of you, so Zen...

I took this shot today while returning home from work. Damn snow again. It's crazy how often it snows this winter.
Instead one or two snowy days every five years or so, we are now having snow twice a week.

Bah! that's small stuff. In Montreal we've had 160.4 cm of snow so far. But on the east coast, Gaspé got a whopping 266.4 cm!
Definitely a good winter for snow as we've busted every record in existence so far.
And it isn't over yet!

But a snowy winter always means a dry summer as we get the same amount of precipitations over a year.

Carlos, I am more sucessful with the Rollei than my Bronica when it comes to kids, but I am beginning to realize that a simple 35mm SLR with fast lens is the way to go.

Yes, but that's CANADA and this is supposed to be sunny Adriatic with mild winters and hot summers.

Anyone know what the purpose of this structures is?

It's a radar reflector for shipping. Not sure if it's still used though. If you look at earlier pictures of it it has four guy-wires holding it. Now it only has one. Maybe they're hoping it will fall down on it's own.

Thank you all for your kind words, time to time the little monkey allows me to photograph her... Andrej, then you are more skilful than me when it comes to the Rollei, no doubt!  :) Becky, thanks for the nice words, as you can see in the pic below Alma switched her mood and face, no photos Papi, but then with some bribery she consented but with that ¨killer¨look...

Taken this morning with the Polaroid 195 and some expired 108, and yes that is the snow white dress, it can be debated whether it´s a princess dress or not (something I swore she would never dress..). In the tale snow white is the daughter of the king, therefore....  ::)
