Just a quick post to wish all the filmwasters a happy winter celebrations (I always feel awkward here, not being a christian, and wanting to be inclusive...).

Any how, its been a challenging year, for a multitude of reasons , but all is looking rosy now. And the world didn't end on Friday - bonus.

I never did get around to sending out the postcards I printed for the exchange this year, for which I feel absolutely terrible. I received so many amazing pics from around the world, but didn't reciprocate.I will make sure I get them sent sometime over the next month, please accept my apologies.

Leon, it just wouldn't be Christmas without your non-christian/druid season's greetings. I for one am lifting a tankard of mead and toasting you (not over an open fire)

A great one to all, whatever your leaning is.

Days are getting longer - all down hill to summer from here. Although, I may need a boat to get out of the house soon!

Cheers phil - and that reminds me - we're thinking about everyone who is trying to stay dry in the UK flood-risk areas. It's going to be a difficult time for many over the next few days looking at the weather forecast. I hope we all escape the floods safe and dry.

Merry Christmas everyone!! Just loading some IR film and some 5x4 sheet film as I post this. Have to work in between Christmas

It's all utterly pointless in my humble nontheist opinion but so long as everyone has a good time and stays safe, a couple of days off eating and drinking a bit too much is seldom a bad thing.

I'll take of tomorrow and Wednesday, but will be working the rest of the time. All in preparation for moving back to Germany ... The money has to come from somewhere. Not complaining though

Happiest of Holidays for whatever reason you wish to celebrate!
I saw the weather forecast for some of you across the pond and hoping you are all safe and warm. Just looked out my window to see what looks like a blizzard heading my way. Just so we can get our Jeep out tomorrow to visit the "big city" to see a film..that is about as much holiday as we have in this house..But for me my happiness and joy comes form knowing that my friends and family are safe and enjoying what is important to them.

I'm in the Festivus camp, but as a former PK (Preacher's Kid) there are still all the remnants and trappings of my youth - tree, food, family, friends.

So to all of you, I hope you all have an opportunity to spend some time with loved ones, and celebrate your own lives and the lives of those people important to you, as well as those persons who you will never know but still are important to our planet.

And there better be pictures!

Hi Everyone, I've been away from home since Dec 24th so haven't been reading over the last few days. Just checking in on my phone to wish everyone a great time whatever flavour your celebration is. Oh, and I too am shame faced on the postcards front. I have printed them, but not sent.them out yet. That's Task #1 for the New Year.

Have just returned from a few days away visiting relatives. Was so looking forward to my long walks but was thwarted by the amount of flooding in the area

Still we had our son home from University which made up for it

Season's greetings to all you FW's and my new years resolution is to try and post a bit more as I had quite a few projects on recently that has prevented me from frequenting FW's as much as I would have liked.

Where would one find information on the postcard exchange here? I've participated in two over on APUG and I truly enjoy them! Can I get in on the one here?

Our postcard exchanges are usually periodic things.
The person who wants to take care of one sends out a call, we respond, scratch our heads to know what the heck we're going to send out, get the list of names, print the images, send them off, wait, and wait...
