Since I'll be having an off-line weekend I'm joining in as well with one lith from last week:

Printed on late fotokemia Varycon paper, you can see for comparison a fomatone version of the same print over on my flickr.

And here is one more from last month's trip to my home country, (contact) printed yesterday on new fomalux paper:

I posted up my process in Diane's delta 3200 thread.

It was Xtol stock 20* for 12.5min. Agitated 15 seconds every minute for the first 7.5 minutes then 10 seconds every minute and a half after that.

Scanned with an epson v700

I've been teaching a "Special Topics in Photography" course a one of the local community college - directed toward using analog cameras of various types - and we took a field trip to a large "park design" cemetery in our area.  The students were loaded with Brownie Hawkeyes, Cigar Box Pinholes, Lomo Fisheyes, Paint Can pinholes, and on and on.  I had taken 2 Lomo 360 Spinners with me, one loaded with Walgreen's 400 iso color film, the other with some Lomo red scale, and I had 15 or 20 leftover Hallowe'en masks in my car.  I dumped the masks out on the ground, told them to take their pick and stand in a circle, shoulder to shoulder.  These are the results, our class photo for the semester!

Here's two from my first roll ever through a Kodak Pony 135, Kodak Ultramax 400. Very happy with my results! Didn't know what to expect from the Pony. Both taken on the Atlanta Beltline.

Sadly, no Thanksgiving themed shots, but happy Thanksgiving! Happy regular Thursday to our non-American waster friends.

I was out playing with my old Exakta again and a roll of Delta 400 someone gave me.  The first is a grab shot wide open at a 60th (I think).  The other one I actually metered.

TinTin - those Delta shots are quite amazing. I'd like to try Xtol but I just don't process enough film most of it would go off before I got to using it. I wonder how that'd work with HC-110?

These are shots of Barbara Hepworth's glasshouse in her garden, a very calm place if you've never been.

Nigel, nice work!

Btw, i like hc-110 but I did not think it was good for pushing (or at least crazy amounts). Tintin is encouraging me to try some 3200 (despite the fact that I am having too much fun with efke 25 haha) but I was planning on using something else like some xtol a generous friend gave me.

Don't worry, HC-110 will push quite a bit. But you have to live with the contrast and grain. The trick is to use some of the undocumented dilutions and times. But don't expect subtlety in the tones and gradations :)

One of the classic newspaper solutions is to take some Tri-x (what good trick doesn't start with this film?) and expose it to either EI 3200 or EI 6400 (that's a 3 to 4 stop push). Take some straight syrup and dilute it 1+12 in water at 90°F. Process for 10 to 12 minutes depending on the EI used.

Beautiful thread this week. Some great work but difficult to look past Andrej, Suzi and Diane's work.

Mine is a little pile of twigs I saw on a walk through Thetford Forest a couple of weekends ago. Hasselblad 500c/m, 80mm lens, mirror locked up, Ilford XP2 Super and sepia tone / vignette courtesy of Silver Efex Pro.

Such great variety, as usual.  Particularly like Andrej's trees and Suzi's Paris crypt.

Still trying to catch up with scanning of photos from a holiday in Wales in August.  This one from a hike up to the former slate quarry at Rhosydd.  A wonderful and fascinating location - may put some more pictures together as a short photo essay, time permitting.
Happy weekend to all.

Haha thanks Francois. I have some Tri-x kicking around and some hc-110 syrup so I will give it a whirl on something.  It sounds like a bit of a ride so I will sit back, shut up, and hold on! ;)

I don't have a scanner so rephotographed them on digital (sorry). I will be printing them in the darkroom when I have a chance (excuses, excuses, lol!)

OK I may be setting my self up for future disappointment but I am going to try to have my posts to these threads be a trifecta: shots taken during the week, processed during the week and printed during the week. On good weeks I hope it is at least two of the three, but this week it is all three! It feels great to be back in the darkroom.

I have been playing with 25ISO Efke and flickr does not do it justice. I feel like I am squishing a MF camera (OK at least a 645, haha) into my Olympus!

While it is a trifecta, I will resist posting three, but will bore you with my 'win' and 'place' for the week (the 'show' needed a bit more time in the darkroom)   ::)

Hi TinTin.

Ilford makes stunning B&W films and I try to support the "home team" as much as possible. However, Kodak makes three films in 120 without which I would be lost; Portra (160 and 400) and Tri-X. Portra 120 has been a staple diet of wedding and portrait photographers for decades. It's also great for land / seascapes and scans beautifully. If you like B&W, it also converts extremely well. Tri-X is the film I use if I want something in my bag that will do almost anything - extremely well (except colour, of course).

If you haven't tried Portra yet, I cannot recommend it highly enough. I've only used the 800 derivative once and that was very good - but I'm not so experienced when it comes to really high ISO films.
