Topic: Looking for Robert Capa with a Moskva 5

Its not quite the missing mexican suitcase , however in September this year my wife and I rode our motorbikes from England to Spain and France and back again. We had decided early on that we would not got to any cities, we would stay in the north and also in the mountains as much as possible.

We really wanted to stay in villages and meet the local characters, we had a wonderful, did get lost in plenty of villages, went up and down a dirt mountain track one afternoon after spending the morning on a cablecar going right to the top of a mountain. The dirt track required an impromptu DIY ride on the dirt lesson (I was only really worried the digital might get bounced around, no such fear for the mighty film cameras I was carrying )

Anyway it was all fun, I ran B&W through the Mamiya C220 (yet to be processed) and about 4 rolls of Provia 100 through the Moskva 5 as follows, the first I really got it out was in Pamplona there was a full one day strike so the whole town was desserted:

What a terrific trip.  Envious!  Would love to see the C220 shots later (said Richard who is still developing his 120 film from his June trip to Wyoming)

Thanks Rich, I have a film dryer now so I am going to attempt to set up a temporary darkroom and get amongst it.

I have stuff from, Wales, Turkey and now Spain and France to process, so if all goes well I will have a bonanza of images to scan and share.

Hey Ed, yer we had an absolute blast, I need to do it all again to spend more time on the photos, but I guess that will always be the case

Just to be a geek for moment, those skies are the Moskva + Provia 100 + Scan + tidy up in PS + No overcook of levels

I am just impressed at the results I can get from a 50 year old camera

You can get the same out of digital I guess but not nearly as many young sexy art student girls come over for a chat when you drag out a characterless digital camera ( okay so they didn't, but whose to know ;-) )

Wow Ken. I almost regret selling my Moskva 5. But then I'm mostly taking pictures of my 2 year old. I've notice that the Moskva is the wrong camera for that

Urban - child photography with a Moskva 5? were you trying to develop some sort of self loathing, self flagellation thing?

Its damn near hard enough with a camera shooting at 8 frames a second!

She was even running around with a balloon ... and I was shooting slides Given those circumstances I'm surprised that the shots aren't that much out of focus

But yes, next time I'll use my Nikon F90X again (or maybe even get that F5 I've been thinking about).
