Photo of Don Hong-Oai
« on: April 16, 2007, 10:25:26 PM »
Many years ago I discovered this photographer through the old Camera and Darkroom magazine.
Having a bit of spare time, I hunted down a page on Photo Eye
He is a Chinese photographer who emigrated to the states.
For those interested, his images are actually photo montage made from multiple negatives! Truly amazing.

He has been one of my favorite photographers for many years--someone came out with a beautiful calendar of his work
a couple of years ago.  I love the idea of the signature on the side--I've been wanting to copy James MacNeil Whistler and
add my mark on the front of a photo.  I recently met two photographers that used a Chinese "chop" mark on the front of
their photos--something I've been considering--I love the orange ink with the b/w...still pondering.
