Thursday 17 October - traditional start to the weekend.....
« on: October 18, 2012, 07:22:31 PM »
Well, as I'm likely to out of circulation much of this weekend, I thought I'd kick off with a few from a recent trip to Cambridge. All taken with Olympus OM4 with 100mm/f2.8 or 28mm/f2.8. Kodak Tri-X rated at 320 and very little post processing.

After a long while I have something to share again - from last month's family holiday under the Alps in Bavaria

Both images were shot with Mamiya 645E on Adox 25, scanned darkoom prints
Website of sorts, as well as ipernity thing.

Waxed and aged print on Ilford Matt - toned in Sepia.

An old neg but re-worked.

Waxing gives a nice patina but I can't now do a decent scan. It's more cruddy than you see here :-)

Fantastic image Andrea! I really like the mood in it.
And good caffenol stuff from Becky  :)
I love using caffenol... I even got used to the smell up to the point of almost liking it  :o
A bad day in the Darkroom is better than good day at work...

It's been 20 years since the Carandiru massacre happened, the news here are bringing the attention back again to this awful period in the history in my country...

Love the tones on Jeff's car and Dave's bridge, but, Jojonas, the colours and light inside Sainte Chapelle, wow!

Ditto that.  (I was going to say 'amen to that' but thought better of it...)  Downright spooky ethereal stuff there, Jonas.

Here are a couple that might be titled 'why I'll miss Efke R100'.  It curls like an SOB but what lovely emulsion it has.  Trying out a newly-acquired Yashica 44.

Holga - Kodak BWCN - Marfa, TX. I'd like to say it was shot on toy camera day, but, it wasn't!

Went for a hike today and brought a kit along. Shot with unknown expired Porta so a lot of shots turned out a little less than how i was expecting.

The portra looks nice JM. When you said the portra was showing its age, I expected it to be all washed out. Love the shot of the rocks. The gorge is awesome. While you were enjoying nature I was inhaling plaster dust - no photo essay was taken ;-)

Not used to being back in school. Abit to stressed out to shoot anything even though I usually carry a camera with me.

First few shots from a trip to Tbilisi last week and so tried on the field my new toy (pentax 67.... my shoulder still aching...). still a few rolls to process

Paper Negative in a cigar box pinhole, taken in the rain, about 3 minute exposure, and a hand held shot of a carousel at the zoo, also in the rain, hand held for about 3 seconds, taken with an Ansco Speedex using Tri-X film from 1981

Salvo, congratulations for the Pentax 67, it´s indeed a great camera. I have the 55 and 105 mm lenses and both are fantastic, I recommend in case you do not have them the WLF and the macro rings as well as the right hand grip, custom made, which makes the handling of the beast a bit steadier if not easier.

Carlos.

Also, I know of only one thing I feel is worth using with this camera: a monopod!
While I never liked them much, they come in super handy for heavyweight cameras like the 67 and they don't slow you down enough to notice it.
