FW "Share the Love" Campaign #2
« on: October 16, 2012, 07:20:48 PM »
Some of you might remember the FW "Share the Love" thread  that Leon started in February. For those that missed it, he offered his old camera backpack for free to anyone who offered something for free in return. In the end we had a three page thread with stuff being swapped all around the world (I'm now the happy owner of Leon's backpack, his Coronet Commander, the Fujica Drive from Sandeha, and a Kodak Brownie 127 from Diane).

Today, I'd like to start again. The rules are as follows:

  • If you want something that someone offered, you have to offer something else to the community in return.
  • If you have something to offer, but don't want anything in return you can just add it.
  • The items are not for sale, but you can ask for postage if you want.

That's it! Let's have fun and I'll make a start and offer a few items that are just gathering dust on my shelf (you pay the postage):

  • Ricoh TLS 401 SLR with Auto Rikenon 50mm f/1.4, Auto Rikenon 28mm f/2.8, and Travenar 37mm-105mm Macro-Zoom, ever-ready case. Everything but the light meter works. And the camera just got new light seals.
  • Coronet 4-4 Mk II with ever-ready case
  • Yashica MG-1 rangefinder. Works fine, I think. Comes with ever-ready case and a light-seal kit (pre-cut)
  • Kodalite Flashholder. I got it with my Kodak Brownie Hawkeye from Randy Smith so I assume it works.

I'm happy that this is up again!
It was super fun :)
But to avoid making things hard to follow, we have to wait for someone to take one of Urban's things before we offer something else.

Sounds fun. I agree with Francois. I'll wait until someone takes interest in Urban's stuff before posting.

Oh, wow. I didn't expect that I actually had to advertise my stuff more heavily. But here it goes:

The Ricoh TLS 401 is a nice M42 mount camera with an additional viewfinder on top. Apart from the light meter this copy works just fine. It come with a Auto Rikenon 50mm f/1.4 that is in perfect condition. The 28mm f/2.8 is also in very good condition. And the zooms looks good, too.

Now, please! Someone take this off of my hand!

Hi Alan.

I'll take "Lot 1" if I may, please. That tank might just spark me into starting to process my own 35mm negs again. If you let me know the postage costs, I'll reimburse gladly.

I'll PM you my address.

Regards, Paul.

Hi Urban.

Got a couple of things in mind but I'll have to wait until I get home tonight to confirm. I just didn't want to miss out on Alan's "Lot 1" as I' determined to get back to processing again.

As I've just secured Alan's "Lot 1", it's my turn to offer something in return.

1. Polaroid SX-70 (the brushed steel version with brown leather, complete with it's leather carry case). Fully functional and very clean. There's a couple of light scuffs on the leather but it's just as it was when I bought it from Gregor 18 months or so back. I've concluded that SX-70 type shooting isn't really for me, so I'd rather let someone else make better use of it.

2. Olympus Zuiko MC Auto-S 50mm f1.8 (black nose not silver nose) in lovely condition. I only have the front lens cap (I'll try to get a rear one) but I'll be ultra-careful with packaging). I don't need it as I also have the f1.4 version and someone else might as well get the benefit. I know I shouldn't probably say this but, with the right 4/3rds adapter, it'd make a sweet 100mm f1.8 portrait lens.

Usual rules - first to PM me confirming they definitely want each item wins it.

Paul.

Wow, Paul, that's very generous of you. One day I might try instant film again, but not this time. So to sum up, here's what available right now:

Thank you late developer, that is a very generous offer.

I will mix it up a bit and include some film, and hope that someone will be interested. If this isn't suitable then let me know and I will see what cameras I have that would interest someone.

3 (30 shots) Polaroid polacolor silk pack film, expired 2002 but working fine with full chemicals spread. I shot a pack of this on the weekend and it worked fine,

or

3 packs of 35mm Polaroid black and white instant slide film. 36 exposures each. well expired but may work? haven't shot with this stuff yet.

or

I also have 2 variable ND filters, made by FOTGA, one 46mm and one 49mm.

Or any combination of the above  :)

I hope someone can give this a new home!

I would love the Polacolor Silk! PM being sent.

I will offer an Olympus Pen EE-S. Im not sure if it works. I came across a PenFT at a incredable price the day after buying this and just never used it. I will throw in a roll of cheap colour film (24 exp, so that it doesn't take forever for you to get through it)

I will also offer up a nice Vintage Diana. Full working order.

I am in Canada so not sure what the postage will be.... If your will have at her.

ok, I'll bite! my olympus trip ain't working no more so this might be something to replace it until I get it repaired.

let me edit this in a bit with my offerings. I've got some stuff I've been thinking might suite this~

let's see... I've got these cameras up for grabs:

vivitar pn2011 - 28mm toycamera! (with panorama function) I've taken many good shots with her http://www.flickr.com/search/?ss=2&w=23484287%40N02&q=pn2011&m=text but since I got my uws, this one has been collecting dust I'm afraid.
samsung fino 115 - 38-115 auto macro lens with "AF FUZZY LOGIC" apparently a good camera in a very small size (won an eisa award I think?) but the display is cracked. still seems to work good though (I shot a roll I think but that must be lost in the undeveloped film pile). I basically got it for its multiple exposure function, and the diopter is nice too. something about a snap mode on there... anyway, it is also known as the Samsung Maxima Zoom Evoca 115

shipping is on me! you will be recieving this from sweden.

OMG so much activity!

* Canon EOS Elan IIe (EOS 50E), body works great
* 1 brick (use some already 15-20 rolls?) of Arista.edu 400 (fomapan400)b&w 35mm film. expired 11/2008. works great
* Polacolor 108 1 box, 2 packs, (10exp ea) x 9/1999, works, but manual cameras tend to work better.. below is example with 360 LC.

I'm totally lost .... this is what happened last time. You are all far too generous :)

I think it would have made sense to only offer one thing at a time, so there is a chain rather than a myriad of tributaries forming at each post. either way, thanks to you all for offering up some amazing swaps.

i agree with leon, a Q should have been formed to take and offer an item, it looks like a free for all

Some pack Polaroid too!

(Earth calling Ed... Earth calling Ed... Free Polaroid waiting ;) )

And there's the Vivitar PN2011 which is pretty wonderful. The lens gives colors reminiscent of the UWS. Another great deal to be had. And since it's so light, it won't cost a fortune in shipping!

Lets get the ball rolling here!

I basically got it for its multiple exposure function, and the diopter is nice too. something about a snap mode on there... anyway, it is also known as the Samsung Maxima Zoom Evoca 115 by jojonas~

Well looks like I just missed out on Tkmedia's Polaroid film. I thought I would offer up something else new anyway, just because of some of the recent love for the Bronica SQ-A.

So... 1 Polaroid back for the SQ series. Comes with the darkslide and works great.

Now that is an exciting offer for someone!  :)

This idea rocks, so much generosity. And clearly a lot of people with lots of cameras lying around (Me included)

must've brainfarted when I got this... 3mm off for what I want :P

1 HOYA 81B 58mm filter, decreases color temperature from 3500 - 3200° Kelvin (makes stuff nicely warmer, see example) - looks pretty much unused

and I would want to pick up that 49mm ND filter from chalky! sending PM in a bit :)

Jojonas the filter is yours...

I think I might hang onto the 46 mm one myself, so that just leaves the Polaroid slide film available from me.

TinTin...I have a Bronica Zenza....other than that I don't know...I looked on line to see if I could figure out if the pola pack would work , and it seems it would, but if not  I could certainly send it on to you!

I have a Brownie Target six-20...works great for doing tintypes ( Suzi talked about this in one of her posts regarding her beautiful work!) I used it for my tintypes a few times but I have three of these so hopefully someone else can get some enjoyment from it!
This one does not have a tri pod mount.

Is it possible to offer something even if I don't find anything interesting to claim at the moment?

Thanks!
